Chatter is an internal social network tool created by salesforce.com. The main goal of this product is to encourage collaboration among employees by allowing them to communicate and share ideas in an effective way - via Facebook style postings, wikis, blogs, streaming video chat, and file sharing. Chatter was built on the Salesforce Platform as a set of applications and communities within the Salesforce service. Chatter was introduced in February 2010 at the Dreamforce conference hosted by salesforce.com.On February 17, 2013 Salesforce released the Chatter REST API for developers to use in customizing Chatter data for business applications. The Chatter API is currently in Developer Preview mode, with limited documentation available and no support or SLAs.

Hubspot CRM is a customer relationship management application (CRM. designed for small businesses, non-profit organizations and teams, and individuals. It uses a freemium business model. Free accounts are provided that offer as much storage as needed for contacts and leads, however, account usage is limited on certain advanced features unless the user pays for a higher tier account. Upgrading to a paid level allows the user access to more advanced features such as real-time reporting, team collaboration features and many other features that make the application useful for creating targeted marketing campaigns. In addition, a free version of the software is offered for use as an open source project under the name "Open Source Hub".
