Basecamp 3 is the latest version of the popular project management software. Basecamp 3 has been completely redesigned from the ground up. It's beautiful new interface allows users to focus on what matters most, their projects.Basecamp 3 is built around an activity stream that shows you what's happening with all your projects at a glance. You can also put together a daily digest email, which gets sent out once per day summarizing everything on Basecamp 3. The Summary Dashboard displays all of the most important information about your projects in one place. This makes it easy to get the big picture without having to click through various tabs and pages.Basecamp 3 comes with several apps that allow you to do more with your projects. The Calendar app gives you a visual overview of what everyone on your team is working on. You can quickly see what people are doing and add things to their calendars directly from the dashboard. There is also an Invites app that allows users to send invites to people who aren't members of Basecamp 3 yet.Basecamp 3 also features an Asana integration that allows you to create new Asana tasks directly from the task pop-up in Basecamp 3. The Asana integration creates tasks in Asana and adds them to your project list in Basecamp 3 along with all of the other tasks from Basecamp 3.Basecamp 3 has an improved search feature that searches for both messages and attachments. Integration of Chatter and Basecamp 3

Chatter provides a single location where users can communicate with co-workers and customers, regardless of whether they are inside or outside of an organization's firewall. Chatter makes it easy to connect with others inside your company, join communities centered around specific topics, and follow experts, brands, and industry news in real time. It incorporates feeds from social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, so users can see what their friends are talking about, whether they are inside or outside the firewall. Users can also post status updates, share links, upload photos, and communicate with one another via instant messages or threaded conversations—all without leaving their workflow.Chatter streams content directly into the user interface of Salesforce applications so users can take action right where they need it—in the Salesforce application itself—without having to switch between different tools and systems. Chatter also integrates with third-party applications, such as Microsoft SharePoint and Google Apps, so users can access external content within Salesforce. With Salesforce1 mobile apps for iOS and Android, users can stay on top of their work wherever they go. Chatter makes it easy for anyone to participate by combining the best practices of social media with the power of enterprise software—all delivered through a single, powerful platform.Basecamp 3 allows users to collaborate in real time with anyone inside or outside their firewall using any device they choose – mobile devices, tablets or PCs, Macs, or even Linux platforms like Ubuntu. In addition to enabling collaboration across teams internally, Basecamp 3 offers several integrations so users can securely connect with customers, partners and vendors outside their firewall and get work done faster together. For example, Basecamp 3 offers an integration with Google Apps for Work that enables users to invite Google Apps users to projects directly from Basecamp 3 rather than sending them an individual email invitation. Users can also easily organize workflows for handling documents created and shared using Google Apps through a dedicated Google documentation section within Basecamp 3 without ever leaving their workflow or having to download files or open them in another application.Basecamp 3 is built around an activity stream that shows you what's happening with all your projects at a glance. You can also put together a daily digest email, which gets sent out once per day summarizing everything on Basecamp 3. The Summary Dashboard displays all of the most important information about your projects in one place. This makes it easy to get the big picture without having to click through various tabs and pages. Members can access this Summary Dashboard straight from the sidebar on any page—just click on the Summary tab at the top of any screen to get started. The Summary Dashboard is built from two main components. Today's Unread Feed shows all unread messages in all projects so users can quickly catch up on what's happening on Basecamp 3 while browsing around the site; Project Summaries show all the key details about each project in an easily digestible format that make it easy for users to get the big picture about what's going on in each project while flipping through pages in a project workspace or clicking through project tabs in the sidebar on any page. With Basecamp 3's Activity Stream, members see everything happening on Basecamp 3 in one place—whether they're reading comments from teammates on projects, watching videos posted by other members or checking out photos uploaded by team members—or if they're simply scrolling through their own activity feed looking for interesting posts or updates shared by people they follow in their networks or saved for later consumption by pressing the "Favorite" button on the Activity Stream toolbar located right next to every post visible throughout Basecamp 3's interface. An activity feed is visible from anywhere inside Basecamp 3 by clicking on either an icon on a sidebar tab (for example "Activity" tab. or by clicking anywhere on an empty space inside a project page (like "View All", "Project Info" etc. where there is no sidebar present. Here's how it looks:The activity feed is highly customizable via filters and settings options found under "Activity" dropdown menu at top-right corner of the Activity Stream page (this dropdown menu is not present on mobile versions of Basecamp 3. This is how it looks when "Show Only Favorites" is selected:Alongside Activity Streams – which shows you everything happening across all projects – there are separate activity feeds that show you what's happening privately within each individual project (the feed appears at bottom-right corner of each project page. Here's how it looks when you have two conversations going on within a single project:Unlike Activity Streams which are available everywhere inside Basecamp 3 interface – including Pages viewed in Projects (sidebar navigation), Project Settings sections etc – Activity Feeds only appear within Project Workspaces where they are generated automatically for every single project (mobile versions of Basecamp 3 don't have Activity Feeds. Activity Feeds behave exactly like feeds do in Chatter – they update as soon as someone shares something new – so if you're following someone who has been posting regularly and likes putting up lots of photos for instance – then you'll be seeing lots of activity! When this happens you'll see new entries appearing in their Activity Feed (which will be displayed at bottom-right corner of each viewable page inside Project Workspace. pretty much instantly after new content has been posted / liked / tweeted / shared etc by someone being followed by you who has chosen "Close Friends" privacy setting (more about this below. Here's how an Activity Feed looks when someone follows "Close Friends":
