Create an outline for an article about the challenges faced by refugees:

  • What are refugees?
  • The challenges faced by refugees
  • Reasons why unaccompanied minors become refugees
  • Challenges faced by refugees when they arrive in a new country

Refugees are people who have been forced to leave their own country because of war, natural disaster or persecution. They seek refuge in another country where they believe they will be safe. Refugees are often underprivileged so they face many challenges after leaving their home country. Some of these challenges include things like poverty, lack of education and opportunities, health problems, employment, language barriers and cultural differences.3 reasons why unaccompanied minors become refugees:

  • Natural disasters – If a natural disaster occurs in a refugee's home country, he/she may be forced to leave the country in order to survive or look for help. For example, after the 2004 tsunami, thousands of children were separated from their families because their parents died during the disaster. These children were forced to live on their own until they could find some help. Many of them became refugees because they had nowhere else to go.
  • War – War forces many people to relocate to safer areas within the same country or another country entirely. Children are particularly affected by war because they are often targets of kidnappings or recruitment into military services. After being kidnapped or recruited, children may be forced out of their homes or countries as refugees in order to protect them from these circumstances or others like them.
  • Persecution – Even if children are not directly affected by war, they may still be forced to live as refugees if they are persecuted in their home country due to gender, race, religion or nationality. For example, a child from the Muslim minority group in a predominantly Hindu country may be forced to leave his/her family behind in order to escape persecution and discrimination he/she faces on a daily basis. This child would be classified as a refugee because he/she has no other choice but to leave his/her home country in order to survive and avoid persecution.
  • The challenges faced by refugees when they arrive in a new country.
  • Poverty – Refugees often struggle with poverty after arriving in a new country because they don't speak the native language, don't have any money saved up and don't have many job opportunities available to them at first. This causes many refugees to turn to jobs that are dangerous or even illegal such as drug smuggling or prostitution just so they can earn enough money to survive each day.
  • Lack of Education and Opportunities – Refugees usually come from countries where schools were not available for them to attend due to financial reasons or so they could work instead of going to school. As a result, they may have missed out on years of formal education and may not even know how to read and write which is essential in finding employment after arriving in a new country. This lack of education and opportunity can create an even deeper cycle of poverty which makes it difficult for refugees to get out of a life of poverty that may have led them to becoming refugees in the first place.
  • Health Problems – Refugees often have poor access to health care and have little money left over after paying rent and utility bills each month which means there is little money left over for buying medicine or visiting a doctor's clinic. This creates many health problems for refugees which would not have occurred if they didn't have to deal with the difficulties that come with living as a refugee.
  • Job Opportunities – Jobs that require less skills and often pay less such as construction jobs or farm work are what most refugees end up with after arriving in a new country because these jobs are what they are qualified for based on their level of education or skills learned back in their home country. This is unfortunate because many refugees desire jobs that are more skilled based on their education level back in their home country but jobs like this are hard to find because employers feel the refugees don't have enough experience working in that field which is understandable since the refugees did not have easy access to education back home prior to becoming a refugee.
  • Language Barrier – Refugees often struggle with learning how to speak the native language of the country they are living in which can affect communication with friends, family members and even employers if they are lucky enough to find a job. Because of this language barrier it can be very difficult for many refugees to gain help from others which only creates more issues for them since they have no one else they can rely on besides themselves when it comes time to find housing, apply for jobs or provide for themselves and their families. 6. Cultural Differences – Even if refugees can learn the native language quickly enough it still doesn't guarantee they will understand all the cultural differences between their home country and the new country they are living in. Some things that may be seen as common practices back home may actually be illegal here or may be looked down upon if done here which can cause huge misunderstandings or conflicts between people who don't realize what they are doing is offensive or just plain wrong until someone tells them otherwise. This causes huge problems between refugees who should be able to trust others for help but instead choose to keep quiet about what is bothering them because they fear getting into trouble or being labeled as ungrateful for complaining about something that is not their fault in the first place.

We should always remember that refugees came here seeking help not harm and there is nothing wrong with offering them temporary housing until other permanent arrangements can be made for them once they are able to get back on their feet again. We have all heard stories about heartless people turning away those who need help in dire circumstances but these people only represent a small portion of society who are simply too ignorant or selfish to see what they are doing is wrong or harmful in any way but this is not true for most people who understand how difficult things can be for those who are struggling just trying to survive each day without having any control over what is happening around them so we should all try our hardest to help these people as best we can without having any expectations placed on us because we can never truly understand how difficult things are for them without walking in their shoes ourselves at some point in our lives so we should all do our part as best we can and if we can't do anything then at least we can pray for them instead so everyone please do your part and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
