Benefits of Integration of Calendly and Downtime Alert

    What is Calendly?

The gist of Calendly is that it allows users to create appointments online for themselves or others. This is done by creating a calendar, which is synced through Google Calendar or Outlook, so that you can see appoinments in the same place where you normally keep your schedule. This makes it easy for clients or customers to view your schedule at a glance, instead of having to look through a messy email thread. In addition, one of the best aspects of Calendly is that it allows users to set time restrictions on when their appointments are available. So, if a potential client wants to book an appointment with you, they must do so during a certain block of time. If they try to book outside those hours, they will be informed that you are not available at that time. This is helpful for you because it allows you to be strict with your schedule. As opposed to other scheduling systems, like Doodle, where you can pick whichever time works best for you, people will know exactly when you are available. It also allows you to be strict with yourself, because appointments are automatically blocked out on your calendar, so you won't have the option of rescheduling an appointment to a more convenient time. One thing to keep in mind when using this app is that you must manually edit each event every single day. This means that if someone schedules an appointment with you at 10 AM on Monday, you need to remember to mark that spot as unavailable on Tuesday morning.Calendly can also be used for things other than business meetings. You can use the calendar page to schedule any type of event, whether it's personal or business related. For example, I have used it to schedule events for our department (e.g. monthly staff meetings. and personal events (e.g. a trip my husband and I are planning. What is Downtime Alert?

Downtime Alert is a free service offered by Intercom for their customers and prospects. The purpose of the service is to alert your clients or customers that you are offline and will not be able to respond to emails or resolve issues until you return from your downtime. This is beneficial because it eliminates the uncertainty many people feel about whether or not they should send an email when they may receive a response later than expected. Thus, Downtime Alert eliminates the need for messages like "I'm going out of town from August 15-22nd; if you email me while I'm gone, I'll get back to you ASAP." It also eliminates the question of whether or not it's okay to send an email during normal business hours. With Downtime Alert, it's clear to your clients or customers that you are not available during certain times and they should wait until a better time to contact you with questions or concerns. What exactly does the Calendly integration with Downtime Alert do?Calendly has added the ability to integrate Downtime Alert into their platform, so that when you schedule an appointment, you can choose to send a Downtime Alert as well. When choosing this option, Calendly will ask what type of downtime you want to share with your clients or customers (i.e., vacation, sick day, holiday. The next step is to provide information about how long you expect to be unavailable (i.e., one week, two weeks. You can also add a message about why you are unavailable (i.e., vacation, sick day, holiday. After this information has been provided, Calendly sends an email on your behalf announcing your downtime (which does not include your name. and includes a link so that people can reschedule their appointment with one click if needed. After this email has been sent, Downtime Alert notifies all contacts who had previously requested appointments scheduled by you that you are now unavailable until further notice. The only thing left for you to do is sit back and relax! And that's it!*Note. If anyone knows how I can embed slideshare presentations into my blog posts, let me know :)
