Integration of BulkGate and Salesforce

BulkGate

BulkGate is a gateway between Salesforce and other systems. It uses Bulk API to access Salesforce from other systems. When integration is completed, you can add records in Salesforce from other systems, update records in Salesforce from other systems, and delete records in Salesforce from other systems.

Integration of BulkGate and Salesforce

We need to integrate BulkGate and Salesforce. We have a range of options for this kind of integration.

  • Use a bulk API connector or a bulk API export. This is an option when we have a full-time programmer who can write the code for us. The connection will be direct from one system to another. This will be done through a connection that will be created directly from the Salesforce field to the other system's field. In this case, we can use a bulk connector, which has been developed by third party vendors. This bulk connector will connect to BulkGate and then send the data using the bulk API. One of the most common connectors available for this purpose is called 'Salesforce Connector'. It is written by a company called 'Infocrossing'. This connector is used to connect with other systems like 'Cisco WebEx', 'Netsuite', 'Zoho', and 'Oracle Fusion' etc. For more information about these connectors, visit https://www.infocrossing.com/salesforce-connector/.
  • Use a web service to connect to Salesforce and call the API using the web service. This is an option when we have a regular programmer. The connection will still be made using the bulk API, but we will need to write the code ourselves and use the bulk API to connect with Salesforce and send data back and forth. There are several tops available for this task. Visual Studio, Eclipse, PHP, HTML5, and JavaScript. For example, we can use PHP to connect with Salesforce and call its API using SOAP or REST. Also, there are many frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Yii, Zend, Magento, Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, and Django that provide support for connecting with Salesforce using SOAP or REST. For example, we can use CodeIgniter to connect to Salesforce using SOAP or REST. Also, there are many libraries that give support for it. For example, we can use 'soapclient' library in PHP or 'RestClient' library in Ruby to connect with Salesforce using SOAP or REST.
  • Use an out-of-the-box integration spution. We can use one of the many products that are available on the market today that offers an easy way of connecting with Salesforce using SOAP or REST. Some of these products include 'Sage CRM + Chatter' provided by Sage Software Sputions Ltd., 'Sugar 7 CRM' provided by SugarCRM Inc., 'Klokan CRM + Chatter' provided by Klokan Technpogies Sdn Bhd., 'CRM + Chatter' provided by CRM Dynamics Limited, 'Chatter + CRM' provided by CRM Dynamics Limited, 'SalesForce CRM + Chatter' provided by SalesForce CRM Software Pvt Ltd., 'CRM + Chatter' provided by CRM Dynamics Limited, 'SalesForce CRM + Chatter' provided by SalesForce CRM Software Pvt Ltd., 'Chatter + CRM' provided by CRM Dynamics Limited, 'CRM + Chatter' provided by CRM Dynamics Limited, 'SalesForce CRM + Chatter' provided by SalesForce CRM Software Pvt Ltd., 'Sage CRM + Chatter' provided by Sage Software Sputions Ltd., ‘SalesForce CRM + Chatter’ provided by SalesForce CRM Software Pvt Ltd., ‘SalesForce’ provided by SalesForce CRM Software Pvt Ltd., ‘SOAP Connector’ provided by SAP AG., ‘Service Manager’ provided by TCS Limited., ‘CRM Connector’ provided by TCS Limited., ‘SugarCRM’ provided by SugarCRM Inc., ‘Salesforce Chatter’ provided by Salesforce CRM Software Pvt Ltd., ‘CRM Connector’ provided by TCS Limited., ‘Chatter Connector’ provided by TCS Limited., ‘Sugar 7 CRM’ provided by SugarCRM Inc., ‘Klokan CRM + Chatter’ provided by Klokan Technpogies Sdn Bhd., ‘Chatter Connector’ provided by TCS Limited., ‘Chatter Connector’ provided by TCS Limited., ‘SalesForce Chatter’ provided by Salesforce CRM Software Pvt Ltd., ‘CRM Connector’ provided by TCS Limited., ‘SalesForce Chatter’ provided by Salesforce CRM Software Pvt Ltd., ‘SalesForce’ provided by SalesForce CRM Software Pvt Ltd., ‘SalesForce Chatter’ provided by Salesforce CRM Software Pvt Ltd., ‘Web Services’ provided by Microsoft Corporation., ‘CRMCrossing Integration Suite’ provided by Infocrossing Inc., ‘SOAP Connector’ provided by SAP AG., ‘Service Manager’ provided by TCS Limited., ‘Salesforce’ provided by Salesforce CRM Software Pvt Ltd., ‘SageCRM + Chatter’ provided by Sage Software Sputions Ltd., ‘SugarCRM’ provided by SugarCRM Inc., ‘KlokanCRM + Chatter’ provided by Klokan Technpogies Sdn Bhd., ‘Chatter Connector’ provided by TCS Limited., and others respectively. • Use an open source project to connect to Salesforce. It may take some time to find a suitable project that we can use for this purpose. If we do not find a suitable project that we can use for this purpose then we should modify one of the existing projects and develop it further for our needs instead of writing it from scratch again. It depends on what we want to achieve; for example, if we want to connect to Salesforce using SOAP then we need to look for an existing project that supports SOAP and if we want to connect to Salesforce using REST then we need to look for an existing project that supports REST instead of writing it from scratch again. The programming language we use will determine the choice of the project we pick up; for example, if we want to use PHP then we should pick up an existing project that supports PHP and if we want to use Visual Basic then we should pick up an existing project that supports Visual Basic instead of writing it from scratch again. Few examples of open source projects that are available are listed below:

  • 'Web Services Connector' is an open source project that gives support for both SOAP and REST API calls to create records in Salesforce from other systems using PHP/JavaScript/C#/Perl/Ruby/Python/NodeJS/Clojure/Groovy/Javas cript or any other language with native bindings for either SOAP or REST. For more information about this project visit https://github.com/chrispederick/web-services-connector .
  • 'SOAP Connector' is an open source project that offers support for all API calls including SOAP API calls that create records in Salesforce from other systems using PHP/JavaScript/C#/Perl/Ruby/Python/NodeJS/Clojure/Groovy/Javascrip t or any other language with native bindings for either SOAP or REST. For more information about this project visit https://github.com/salesforcesf/soap-connector .
  • 'Salesforce' is an open source project that connects with Salesforce using SOAP API calls only making it very easy for developers to integrate their application with Salesforce using SOAP API calls only using PHP/JavaScript/C#/Perl/Ruby/Python/NodeJS/Clojure/Groovy /Javascipt or any other language with native bindings for either SOAP or REST.
