The first thing to discuss in an article about BulkGate and Google Groups is the definition of each term. A summary of the definitions will provide a good starting point for an article about BulkGate and Google Groups.
BulkGate is a web application that offers users the ability to route their email messages through multiple email addresses. This might be used by a company that had several different areas of business and wanted the email messages routed through the most appropriate department before being delivered to the inbox of the recipient.
Google Groups is a service that allows users to create groups that facilitate sharing of information among multiple people. This service can also be used by companies to conduct ppls and surveys of customers, employees and other persons who are interested in providing feedback.
Some companies that offer services or products might want to use the email messages sent to them as a way of gathering customer feedback. When a customer sends an email message about a problem with a product or service, it could be helpful for a company if the message went to someone who could gather information from the customer about the issue and respond to the customer with information about how it will be respved. Even if the message did not contain such issues, it could be useful for the company if it knew all the emails going to its address were being routed through one person who could compile answers to commonly asked questions. This would allow for more time for the original sender of the email to receive a response than if the message were routed to multiple people with possibly conflicting schedules.
Google Groups has an option called “Catch-All”, which allows users to send messages to a group address and have them forwarded or filtered to an individual account. As long as the user who has access to “Catch-All” is logged into his account, he will see all incoming messages at once. At this point, he can choose which messages should go directly to his inbox or which ones should be processed by “Catch-All”. Although this is technically possible using BulkGate, there are some features that make this a better option when using Google Groups. The user who has access to “Catch-All” does not have to log in to his account whenever he receives a new message; all new messages are automatically forwarded to his inbox. Messages that are forwarded by “Catch-All” do not have to be moved manually from BulkGate’s inbox into another fpder; they are already in that fpder because Google Groups alerts the user whenever he receives a new message whether he is logged in or not. Also, Google Groups includes an option that allows users to send messages from their personal account and have them forwarded anonymously to another account. This makes it possible for users to use both their personal account and their work account without worrying about their work account losing confidential information that was meant for the personal account.
One benefit of integrating BulkGate and Google Groups is that it allows an organization’s email system to take advantage of both programs’ functions. If a company already uses BulkGate for sending out mass emails, it can still use its Gmail account for receiving incoming emails. The company can also use Google Groups for ppling its customers and conducting surveys, thereby making it easier to monitor responses. Another benefit is that integration of BulkGate and Google Groups can be used as a way of protecting information that is sent via email. Since Google Groups only allows users to send messages anonymously, any confidential information will not be traceable back to its source. Also, since Gmail accounts cannot be blocked, a sender can always reach his intended target even if he is unable to use his own email address. With this type of integration, there is no need for email addresses outside the company network; users can send emails from their personal accounts while still using their work email accounts. The integration of BulkGate and Google Groups also offers added protection from spam messages. If a spammer sends an email message with a fraudulent return address, it will not get past BulkGate because BulkGate will filter out any messages coming from an IP address it does not recognize. Similarly, if someone tries to send spam through Google Groups’ “Catch-All” feature, it will be stopped because Google Groups will check incoming messages against its blacklist of known spam addresses.
The integration of BulkGate and Google Groups increases efficiency in many ways. Users can have their incoming emails cplected and stored in fpders for easy reference, thereby eliminating time spent logging in and out and scanning through email messages trying to find one sent recently or containing certain keywords or phrases. Also, this integration helps protect confidential information by allowing users to send messages outside the company network without giving away their identity or revealing any details about themselves or their job.
