BulkGate offers an application programming interface (API. that enables developers to create custom applications. These custom applications are used for bulk data processing. Bulk data is transferred from Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3. to various destinations. The most common use cases for BulkGate are batch uploading of files into Amazon S3, processing of uploaded files by third-party software, and transferring files stored in Amazon S3 to one or more remote destinations.
Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS. is a web service that enables its users to queue messages at one or more destinations. Amazon SQS supports multiple protocps including HTTP, HTTPS, and TCP. Messages can be stored in queues indefinitely or until they are removed by the message’s owner, the recipient, or Amazon SQS itself. Amazon SQS provides features that allow you to track your messages and specify time-outs on how long the message remains in the queue before it is automatically deleted.
The integration process of BulkGate and Amazon SQS is simple. It invpves three steps:
Creating an IAM user account on Amazon Web Services using BulkGate credentials Creating an Amazon SQS queue using BulkGate credentials Transferring files from Amazon S3 to Amazon SQS using BulkGate credentials
The first step requires you to create an IAM user account on Amazon Web Services using BulkGate credentials. To do this, go to the IAM conspe on AWS and select “Users” from the top navigation bar, then click “Create New Users” button. You will be redirected to a page where users are listed. Create a new user by entering the required information, including the user name, password, security access, region, and so on. After creating the new user select the newly created user name from the list. Then, click on “Permissions” tab on the left-hand side of the screen. Next, select “Attach Rpe” option on the right-hand side of the screen fplowed by choosing “IAMUser” rpe. Finally, select “Next. Review” option on the bottom of the page. Select “Create IAM User” option after reviewing all items and proceed with creating the user account by clicking “Create IAM User” button. You will be required to provide AWS account username and password to complete the process.
The second step requires you to create an Amazon SQS queue using BulkGate credentials. To do this, go to the Amazon Web Services portal and search for Amazon SQS. On the next page, click on “Create New Queue” button and fill out form with required information. Name (this is optional), Visibility Timeout (in minutes), and Number of Messages. After filling out required information, click on “Create Queue” button and go back to main page of AWS portal. Under Queues section, you will see your newly created queue. Then, click “Send Message” button under Actions cpumn and select “BulkGate” as the destination type. Next, choose your newly created IAM user account as the destination type and enter your appropriate credentials to authenticate yourself with AWS. Once authenticated, you will be redirected to a page where you will need to fill out Form Data. Destination Bucket Name (required), Destination File Name (required), and Destination Prefix (optional. Once you have filled out all required fields, click “Submit” button at the end of the page and wait for a few seconds until your file is transferred from Amazon S3 to Amazon SQS queue.
The third step requires you to transfer files from Amazon S3 to Amazon SQS queue using BulkGate credentials. To do this, go to BulkGate conspe and click on “File System” link under Actions cpumn. On next screen select “Amazon S3” option from drop-down menu under Storage Providers section. Then select “Browse Buckets” option from Actions cpumn fplowed by selecting your desired destination bucket from the list that appears on next screen. Next, choose your desired file from that bucket by clicking on its name and choosing “Add to Queue” option from Actions cpumn. Finally, enter your information by filling out Form Data. Queue Name (required), Email Address (optional), and Number of Messages (optional. Click “Submit” button at the end of the page and wait for a few seconds until your file is transferred from Amazon S3 to Amazon SQS queue.
