Braintree Payment Services is a payment gateway service. It was founded in 2007 by Bill Ready, Bryan Johnson, and Max Levchin and is based in Chicago, Illinois. It was acquired by eBay in September 2013 for $800 million. The company offers a payment system to merchants that allows them to accept payments from credit cards and PayPal.[1] Braintree states that its standard service is free for the first $50,000 in transactions per year, after which it charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.[2]

MailerLite

MailerLite is an email marketing service for small business. It is based in Mumbai, India and was founded in 2012 by Anuj Gupta and Sayak Banerjee. It claims to be the world’s largest email marketing service provider, with over 40 million users.[3] MailerLite lets users send emails, manage contacts, create campaigns, track opens and click-through rates, and track campaign performance.[4] Users of MailerLite can create automatic fplow-up campaigns to target customers who have not yet made a purchase or who have made a purchase but have not completed some desired action such as scheduling an event or making a comment on the website. MailerLite also offers services that allow users to send custom email templates and newsletters. MailerLite has an “app store” through which users can add extra features to their account for a cost.[5]

Integration of Braintree and MailerLite

Braintree provides a payment processing service for MailerLite. Thus, Braintree helps MailerLite process payments from users who are subscribing to MailerLite’s email marketing service. As more users subscribe to MailerLite’s service and make payments through Braintree, the two companies will likely start to share more business opportunities.
