Braintree is a company that offers payment gateway services to merchants. Braintree provides the payment processing services for companies like Airbnb, GitHub and Reddit. The company was founded in 2005 by Bryan Johnson, who is also the current CEO and CTO of the company. Braintree has offices in Chicago and San Francisco. In September 2013, Braintree acquired Venmo for $26.2 million and then in December 2013, they acquired Bill.com for $59 million.

Chargebee

Chargebee is a cloud-based billing and subscription management service that is used by companies for their online payments. Chargebee was founded in 2011 by Atul Jha and Nitin Gupta, who is also the current CEO of the company. Chargebee has offices in San Jose, California and New Delhi, India. The company raised a total of $8 million in funding between 2011 and 2014.

Integration of Braintree and Chargebee

The integration of Braintree and Chargebee will allow merchants to accept credit card payments through Braintree and then use the data from the customer’s purchase to automatically create a charge in Chargebee without having to do any extra work.
