How Box & Shippo Integrations Work

  • Box is an easy to use file sharing service in the cloud. It helps users to store, sync and share their files online.
  • Shippo is a payments API that allows developers to integrate payments into their applications.

    Integration of Box and Shippo

  • The first step of integration is to sign up for a Box account and generate a Box application key.
  • After logging into Box, a user will be able to see a link to create an application key on the right side cpumn of the page. After clicking that link, a new tab will open with a form to fill out. In this form, there are two required fields. Application name and Application type. The app name can be anything, but it must be unique across all applications in the system.
  • The application type is either “Web” or “Desktop”. For our integration, we will choose “Web”. If one chooses “Desktop” as the application type, then the user has to upload some files that are less than 1 megabyte and less than 2 megabytes in size.
  • After filling out the form and clicking “Create Application”, a message saying that the application has been created will appear along with the generated application key. Copy and paste the key into a notepad for later use.
