Integration of BigCommerce and Asana takes full advantage of both platforms' features.BigCommerce Orders in Asana:Asana allows users to add new tasks to a project or move existing tasks into a project. First a user would log into the add-on from the admin area of BigCommerce and then a pop-up window appears showing all the orders in the database sorted by date. After choosing which orders to add/move into Asana, users can then drag and drop them into the project they would like them added/moved to. At this point, the task has been added or moved into Asana but it does not include which specific product needs done or other information about the order. For this reason, users then need to copy the URL of the product detail page in order to get all the necessary information about the order.

BigCommerce Product Details in Asana:After clicking on the URL of the product detail page in order to get all the necessary information about the order, users will then be directed to an Asana task board. On this board there will be a card for each order that was added/moved into Asana through the add-on. On this card there will be a link that says "Copy Order Details" which will prompt users to copy text from the bottom of their browser screen. This text will include which specific products need done on the order. There will also be another link that says "View Products" which will allow users to view all the products in the order together. If users are looking at a single product card, there will be a link that says "Add New Task" which will allow users to create a new task for this specific product. If users are looking at a board for multiple product cards, there will be a link that says "Create Task Board" which will allow users to create a new task board for this specific order.

BigCommerce Tasks in Asana:When creating a new task card, there is an option to choose whether it is related to a product or not. If it is related to a product, users will see the individual product card for that task on the left side of their screen. They can then check off the box next to an individual task if it is complete or report it as incomplete by unchecking the box next to it. When viewing all tasks grouped together on a board for an order, users can check off boxes next to multiple tasks if they are complete and report them as incomplete by unchecking the boxes next to multiple tasks at once. Users can also add comments anywhere on an individual task card by typing directly onto it or by using @mentions. Tasks can also be dragged and dropped around from one spot on an individual card or board to another spot on either one. And finally, when all tasks are complete for an order, users can click on "Move Completed" which will move every completed task onto another board called "Completed." This way users can keep track of everything they have done on an order at a glance without having to worry about tracking individual products from an original board that had both completed and uncompleted tasks back over to a Completed board after it is done. This will save time because now instead of going through every single task individually to check if it is done or not like you would normally have to do on Asana; all you have to do is scroll down to Completed on that order's task board and look at all completed tasks at once without having to go back and forth between boards constantly.BigCommerce Benefits:The benefit of integrating BigCommerce and Asana is that both platforms take full advantage of each other's features.
