The company was founded in 2004 and offices are located in San Francisco and Montreal. SugarCRM offers a Web-based platform designed to manage customer relationships and communications across various channels such as email, phone calls, text messages, social media and mobile apps. SugarCRM's features include lead tracking, marketing automation, sales force automation, contract management, customer service and knowledge base. SugarCRM supports multiple languages including English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German. The company has partnered with companies such as Intel, Dell and Citrix to bundle SugarCRM with their products. In 2009, SugarCRM launched Sugar Enterprise Edition (Sugar EE. By 2011, there were over 16 million SugarCRM users in over 200 countries and territories. In 2011, SugarCRM purchased Switchboard Networks, Inc., a provider of cloud-based contact center sputions for SMBs.

There are three main areas where Basin integrates with other applications. marketing, reservations and housekeeping/operations.

Marketing – The marketing team can access reservation data from ReservationsPro which can then be used to determine if campaigns are working or if other campaigns need to be created. ReservationsPro is a booking engine that helps hotels create customized landing pages filled with relevant information about their hotel based on specific criteria such as location, star rating, type of room and seasonality. ReservationsPro also allows hotels to set up recurring meetings between guests and staff members who can help steer them towards choosing a particular hotel over another. Basin integrates with ReservationsPro by allowing hotels to export guest information from Basin to ReservationsPro which can be accessed by the marketing team as needed. At the end of the day, it is important for hotels to know how much revenue is being generated through marketing efforts so that they are able to measure the effectiveness of their campaigns. Basin integrates with MadKudu which allows hotels to track marketing campaign performances by determining how many times visitors clicked on ads, what percentage of people went on to make a reservation after clicking on an ad or visiting a landing page and how many people placed an actual reservation. These numbers are essential in determining the cost effectiveness of different marketing campaigns.

Reservations – ReservationsPro is an online booking engine that allows guests to make reservations using any device at any time they want. ReservationsPro helps hotels automate the booking process by taking any number of inputs from guests such as arrival date, departure date, number of adults, number of children, number of rooms, email address/phone numberame/credit card information etc. ReservationsPro then uses this information along with price lists provided by the hotel to generate an exact quote for the guest before they book their stay. ReservationsPro also allows guests to have 24/7 access to check availability of rooms at any time which is helpful when they are traveling and want to book last minute. ReservationsPro integrates with Basin by sending reservation information directly into Basin so it can be easily accessed by housekeeping/operations teams on property for check-in purposes. Basin also sends specific information about new reservations directly into ReservationsPro via API so that guests can be contacted immediately before they arrive on property about property amenities or special events happening while they are staying at the property.

Housekeeping/Operations - ReservationsPro accepts incoming calls from guests while they are staying at property which can be routed directly through Basin if needed by housekeeping/operations teams on property. This feature enables guests to contact housekeeping directly while they are staying on property instead of having to contact the front desk who may not even know when the guest plans on checking out yet. This feature increases efficiency for both guests and housekeeping/operations teams because it eliminates miscommunication between them when guests call down for services that need to be completed while they are staying on property versus when they plan on checking out. It also eliminates unnecessary costs for cleaning services since guests do not have to call down anytime during their stay unless they absputely need something done immediately rather than waiting until it’s time to check out so housekeeping can come clean their room. ReservationsPro integrates with Basin by sending guest information directly into Basin so it can be easily accessed by housekeeping/operations teams on property for check-in purposes. ReservationsPro also sends specific information about new reservations directly into Basin via API so housekeeping/operations teams can be notified via text message right when a new reservation comes in from a guest. Housekeeping Teams can then use this information to ensure rooms will be ready when guests arrive on property rather than waiting until someone gets back from a meeting or until an early morning morning meeting concludes in order to see if rooms need cleaning or additional supplies need to be restocked in guest rooms throughout the day.
