Integration of Basin and Gmail

In this paper, I will be discussing about Basin and Gmail. I will discuss about the integration of Basin and Gmail as well as benefits of it.

    What is Basin?

Basin is a client-side email encryption software. It uses OpenPGP standard to encrypt and decrypt emails in their original format. It is open source and client-side which means that no one can read your emails except you and the recipient. Since it is based on OpenPGP standard, it can only be encrypted with PGP software or S/MIME. However, the latest version of Gmail supports OpenPGP Encryption and can be used to encrypt your emails.

    What is Gmail?

Gmail is a free web-based email service provided by Google. Gmail has over 425 million users worldwide and is available in more than 50 languages. It offers secure IMAP and SMTP connections, spam filtering, international character sets, and search facilities for email. It also allows import of contacts from other email providers such as Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, AOL Mail etc.

    Integration of Basin and Gmail

Gmail was integrated with Basin in 2012. In order to use this feature, you need to have an account with Gmail and its latest version. The process of using this feature is very simple. You just need to add a check mark next to "Sign encrypted messages". After this, your emails will be encrypted automatically when you send them out.

Benefits of Integration of Basin and Gmail

There are many benefits of using this integration. Some of them are listed below:

A. PrivacySince all your emails are encrypted at your end, no one can read your email unless you share your private key with them. No one can see who you are communicating with or what you are saying to each other. It also provides an extra layer of security by enabling you to store your private key on a remote server hosted by Google so that if something happens to your email account, you still have a copy of your private key with you. This feature also allows you to send secure messages to people who don't use encryption so that they can read it without any hassle. All they have to do is simply download their public key from the key server and then import it into their email client in order to read the encrypted message. This feature also allows you to read messages that were sent to you in the past which were not encrypted. By adding a checkmark next to "Automatically decrypt messages sent to me" you can decrypt your old messages. The benefit of this feature is that you can search for important messages through your whole inbox without having to go through them one by one.

B. Cost SavingsEmail is the most widely used form of communication in today's world, therefore, it is important for both personal and business use. According to IBM's report, the cost of sending a large number of emails per day can be up to $1,000 per month for small businesses. This cost can be reduced significantly by using Basin and Gmail integration since it does not require any additional fees to send or receive encrypted emails.

The process to integrate Basin and Gmail may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick solution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
