Integration of Basecamp 3 and Slack

This article will talk about the integration of Basecamp 3 and Slack.Basecamp 3 is a project management tool designed to help teams manage large projects. It was founded by 37Signals, which is a web application company based in Chicago, Illinois. It is used by several Fortune 500 companies such as GE, BMW, and Netflix. Basecamp 3 was released on September 30, 2015.It integrates with other services and tools through an API. One example is the integration with Slack.Slack is a team collaboration service launched by Slack Technologies, Inc. It uses cloud hosting where users can access it from any device that connects to the Internet. Slack's features include file sharing, archiving and synchronization of files among other services. It also has an integrated instant messaging system. The integration of Basecamp 3 and Slack adds more value to both services. They both have to do with team collaboration and communication, so it makes sense that they could be used together.Slack added Basecamp 3 features to its application by using the API provided by 37Signals. With this integration, it is now possible for Slack users to comment on Basecamp 3 posts directly from Slack. Users can also add new issues to Basecamp 3 projects and update existing ones without having to go into the actual basecamp application. It is also possible for Slack users to create new projects using Basecamp 3. The integration between Slack and Basecamp 3 is considered to be one of the best integrations ever made because they are both geared towards team communication and collaboration.

The integration of Basecamp 3 and Slack allows a smoother work flow and communication between teams. When all participants in a project are working from different locations, it can sometimes be difficult to know who is working on what task. This results in people sending unnecessary messages and spending unnecessary time doing things that others could be working on instead. With the integration of Basecamp 3 and Slack, this issue can be avoided. It is now possible for users to assign tasks to each other without having to leave the app they are currently working in.Basecamp 3 also helps users plan their projects. The project management feature of Basecamp allows users to create milestones and deadlines for different phases of the project and track progress through graphs. It also allows users to assign tasks to team members and keep them updated using notifications. When a user creates a new issue or update an existing one in Basecamp 3, it automatically sends notifications to Slack channel or private chat room.Basecamp 3 has three main features. Projects, Tasks, and Issues. Each of these three features has its own benefits when integrated with Slack.Projects are used to group related tasks together. When a team member creates a new project in basecamp, or updates an existing one, it will send a notification to the project channel in Slack. Team members can then click on the link provided in the notification to go directly to the project they were just notified about in basecamp. The link takes them directly to the project page where they can see updates on that project such as a new task or milestone created by another team member. This saves time since they did not have to check for updates manually in basecamp or go into basecamp at all. The integration with slack also allows users to create new projects in Basecamp 3 without having to leave slack by using slash commands. The command for creating a new project is "/bc new <project name>" where "new <project name>", is the name of the project you want to create in basecamp 3 . Then you simply need to type "/bc" followed by the name of the project you want to create, and it will open up a form that will allow you enter details about your new project such as description, list of issues, creators, etc.By integrating with slack, all these actions can be done without leaving Slack since everything is handled within Slack itself, allowing users to focus more on real-time conversations rather than going back and forth between applications.Slack has integrated with some third-party services such as Google Hangouts, Trello, Asana, GitHub, Dropbox, Zendesk and many more services using their API. This enables users to connect with other services without having to leave Slack. Users can integrate their slack account with other services without having to deactivate or uninstall anything from their current setup because all actions are done within Slack itself..Another feature that allows better interaction with other team members is the ability for users to add comments directly on Basecamp posts using slack's channel or private chat rooms. This allows users to engage in real time conversations regarding specific posts or tasks in basecamp 3 . If someone adds a comment in a post that pertains to you, there will be a notification sent to your email or slack account notifying you about it so you can then discuss it further via direct message with that person if needed. This makes collaboration easier because everyone involved in the discussion can see the same post at once instead of needing multiple discussion threads going simultaneously which would make keeping track of things more difficult.Issues are another important aspect of Basecamp 3 that helps facilitate better team collaboration and communication. Issues are basically tasks given out by team members for others to complete so they can reach certain milestones in their projects. By integrating with Slack, users can create new issues in base camp without having to leave Slack or access base camp at all. All they have to do is type "/bc new" followed by the name of the issue (without the quotes. then type "issue" (without quotes. where it says "enter description". You can then continue entering details about your issue such as description, list of issues creators, deadline date, etc.. Just like creating projects using slash commands, creating new issues using slash commands "#/bc new <issue name> #issue" will take you directly into a form where you can enter details about your issue such as description, list of issues creators, deadline date, etc.. By integrating with Slack, these actions can be done without leaving Slack since everything is handled within Slack itself , allowing users to focus more on real-time conversations rather than going back and forth between applications .Slack provides an option called "@mentions" which allows users to mention other people by typing "@<name>" before whatever they want to say where <name> is the name of the person you want mention . For example "@john" .With this option you can mention specific people without having to send them direct messages every time you want them involved in your conversation which would waste time because you must wait until they reply again before continuing your conversation . "Since @mentions notify people regardless of whether they're actively monitoring their direct messages or not…you don't need to worry about bothering people who may not be paying attention." Since @mentions work on private channels or direct messages , any messages sent using them will not show up in public channels or general discussion threads in slack channels .For example , if you are working on a project named "Project X" , you might want to @mention someone named "John" who was assigned the task of writing a report for it , so he can make sure he won't forget about it by putting "@john" before writing "we still need that report for project x" . He will get notified immediately since @mentions notify people regardless of whether they're actively monitoring their direct messages or not .So we can see how @mentions allow us stay focused on real time conversations rather than going back and forth between applications while discussing certain topics .III . Conclusion

The integration of Basecamp 3 and Slack provides many benefits for both services and makes teamwork more efficient because everything is managed within one application rather than switching back and forth between two different applications .If you wanted information regarding a particular project , you wouldn't have go into base camp at all but instead just click on the link provided in the notification you received while still being connected within slack's team chat rooms . This way you are able to easily access information regarding different projects within base camp at any time without having interrupt your current workflow by going into base camp itself .We can see how slack integrates with other services by using its API . Its API also makes it easier for developers who want their apps integrated with slack since all they have do is connect their apps using slack's API , rather than having make separate app just for slack .Another benefit we have seen regarding integration with slack is how easy it is for developers creating slash commands which make it easier for users working within different locations apart from each other stay updated with specific projects because they don't have get involve themselves within long discussions related to one specific project because everything is done within Slack itself saving them time , effort , and money .We have also seen how slack makes it easier for developers since developers don
