The AWS IoT is a programmable, Wi-Fi-enabled handheld input device based on the Amazon Dash Button hardware. This button allows Amazon Web Services (AWS) users to automate an action in the AWS public cloud.
Typeform is a flexible data collecting tool that makes asking and answering questions simple and enjoyable, whether it's through forms, quizzes, surveys, or something altogether different.

AWS (Amazon Web Services. is a cplection of cloud computing services that make up an on-demand computing platform, also known as cloud computing. These services are provided by Amazon.com. In 2013, AWS was the backbone for a very high-profile website, Netflix. This site reported that at one point during a 24-hour period, over 33% of all internet traffic used AWS servers.
According to its official website, "Typeform is the next generation online form builder." It allows anyone who has a website or an application to cplect information from their website visitors or application users in a more engaging way than traditional forms. The user experience is more like having a conversation with your website visitor or application user than simply filling out a form. Typeform is free to use if you have fewer than 10,000 responses per month. But if you have more responses per month, Typeform charges you based on the number of responses you get.
According to its official website, "AWS IoT is a managed cloud platform that lets connected devices easily and securely interact with cloud applications and other devices." AWS IoT allows devices to interact with each other and with cloud applications through a set of standardized protocps such as MQTT and HTTP. It uses the so-called "Internet of Things" (IoT. architecture in which devices such as washing machines, cars, HVAC systems, medical equipment, home security systems and many others can connect to the Internet to exchange data about themselves and the environment. This allows for all kinds of applications to be built around these devices. For example, a washing machine could send an alert when it needs maintenance or a car could send an alert when it needs to be refueled. This book will not go into detail about how AWS IoT works since this feature is beyond the scope of this book. However, we will explore how AWS IOT could be integrated with Typeform and explain why it would be useful.
If a device is able to detect some kind of change in its state or environment, it can use AWS IoT to send an HTTP request to a cloud application such as Typeform. The cloud application could then send a response back that would be sent to the device using AWS IoT. For example, if a washing machine detects that it has low water pressure (this is called "the event"), it could send an HTTP request to a cloud application. The cloud application could then notify the user of the washing machine via text message or email that they need to add more water to the washing machine. The user could then do so using their phone. Once the user adds water to the washing machine using their phone, AWS IoT could send a response telling the washing machine that it now has sufficient water pressure (this is called "the outcome". The washing machine could then provide this information to the user via an LED light display on the front of the washing machine or by playing a sound such as a jingle or song.
This book will not go into any detail about how to set up or configure AWS IoT for two reasons:
We assume that you have already done so or have someone on your team who does know how to do so and can help you integrate it into your website or mobile application. There are plenty of books and websites that explain how to set up and configure AWS IoT. We recommend that you consult them before reading any further in this book since we will not be covering it here.
The process to integrate AWS IOT and Typeform may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
