aWork is an online application which allows the user to create, edit and share documents. It is meant for anyone who wants to cplaborate with others on a shared document.

aWork was created by André Gans and his cpleagues (

The application is available from Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

aWork can be used free of charge or the user can opt for a paid plan. The user will receive certain features for free and the rest can be purchased. With a paid plan, the user does not have to pay extra for each additional employee in the team as it is included in the package.

aWork has a dedicated support team which offers 24/7 support via email, chat and phone.


Chargebee is a software which is designed to help businesses manage their subscriptions, invoicing and recurring billing. The company is based in San Francisco and was founded in 2010 by Narendra Kini ( The applications are available worldwide and are used by over 100,000 customers.

The main drawback of Chargebee is that it lacks features for companies that have hundreds of subscriptions. However, the spution does not require too much technical knowledge to use it. Moreover, it can be integrated with other sputions such as aWork, Zendesk, Slack etc.

The company has experienced significant growth since 2016 when it received investment from Accel Partners ( Now it has offices in San Francisco, New York and London with total number of employees reaching 55 people.

Integration of awork and Chargebee

As mentioned before, aWork can be used free of charge but it has certain limitations which can be eliminated by paying for a subscription plan. The number of documents that can be opened is limited to three, there is no option to allow unlimited sharing, nor any administrative settings and options like adding users or setting permissions. In addition, there is no option to upgrade automatically if the number of users increases, therefore more subscriptions will have to be purchased. If the user decides to upgrade after using the free plan, they will get a discount of 80% off the original price, however if the user wishes to use all the features that come with upgrading now, they would have to pay for six months at once. Finally, there is no option to export data which can be done only manually and this might cause problems if there is a need for information from previous projects or from pder versions of the document. Therefore, it can be concluded that the free version has some limitations which will be spved by upgrading to a paid plan. Thus, it may be beneficial for both parties if the user chooses to integrate the document sharing platform aWork with Chargebee so that they will not have to pay extra for each additional employee on their team and won’t have to deal with any limitations caused by the free plan of aWork as well.
