AWeber is a software company that provides services to send out newsletters and other marketing materials. The company was founded in 2001 by Ben and Pete. In 2010, the company was bought over by email marketing firm Constant Contact. In 2011, AWeber was spun off from Constant Contact and became an independent company again. In 2013, the company was acquired by GoDaddy. In 2015, the company was spd to a private equity firm named CRV. In August 2016, AWeber announced the acquisition of Keap.

Keap is a software company that provides a platform for customers to create their own custom e-commerce store. The company was founded in 2014 by Elliot Mermel and Jamie Hodari. In June 2014, the company raised a seed round of funding from investors including Y Combinator, Crunchbase, Amplify SF, and others. In November 2015, the company raised $1 million in seed funding from investors including Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, Y Combinator, and others. In August 2016, AWeber announced the acquisition of Keap.
