It was founded in 1991 by David P. Ball, his brother John Ball and friend Melvin Seligman. With the headquarters in New York City, it has offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. It is a privately held company.

The main products of Autotask are Autotask PSA, Autotask IT, Autotask Business Manager, Autotask Contract Templates, Autotask App Center, Autotask eSignature, Autotask Mobile

and Autotask Agent. The last three products are available only on cloud. In 2015, it launched Autotask Live, which uses live chat to help users spve their issues. In 2016, Autotask acquired GetApp for $15 million.

In addition to online storage provided via OneDrive or its web interface, OneDrive also integrates with other Microsoft services such as Office Online (formerly known as Office Web Apps. which allows users to view and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files within supported web browsers without requiring Office to be installed locally; Outlook.com which provides an online email service; and Xbox Music which provides music streaming for users of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 conspe and Xbox One conspe as well as for people using smartphones running Windows Phone 8 or later operating systems. All OneDrive users also get 7 GB of free space on Microsoft’s SkyDrive service (now known as “OneDrive”. which they can use to back up documents stored on their computers through File History and saved games through Xbox Smartglass.
