Integration of Asana and Google Docs

This paper will compare and contrast the business management software, Asana, and the online document management system, Google Docs. Both programs are integrated for the purpose of creating a more organized and efficient workflow in the workplace. Through this paper, I hope to demonstrate the importance of using an integrated management program for both personal and professional use.

Asana and Google Docs are two popular online programs that have been designed for different reasons. Asana was created as a tool for individuals or teams to manage projects by allowing users to create tasks, schedule tasks, make comments, assign tasks to others, and view a project's progress. Google Docs was created as a way for users to create and edit documents online in real time. Both programs allow users to access their documents from anywhere they have Internet access. Asana and Google Docs are now integrated with each other so that users who use both are able to share information between the two programs.Google Docs began as a way for users to create and edit documents online and has since evolved into a more comprehensive system for managing all types of information. Google Docs allows users to create spreadsheets, presentations, forms, drawings, and much more. Some of these features include real-time co-authoring, offline access, simultaneous editing, revision history, versioning, templates, email integration, and sharing features. In addition, Google Docs is compatible with Microsoft Office products.Google Docs is not just for individual use; it can be used for team collaboration as well. One feature that is useful for teams is its built-in chat feature that allows team members to contact one another directly from within the program. This feature also allows users to share files and communicate with one another without having to leave the program. Teams can create separate folders for each project they are working on and then share them with one another. They can then work together on the same project using different applications (spreadsheets, presentations, etc.. at the same time.Asana is another useful program for project management. It also allows users to create different projects and sub-projects within the program. Users can create tasks, delegate tasks to others, comment on tasks posted by others, add due dates to tasks, track what is being worked on by others, create follow-up items on tasks, set reminders for tasks, and organize tasks into different views to show what is most important at a given time.Google Docs is an integral part of Asana because it allows users to share documents that they have created in Asana with other team members without having to email attachments back and forth or upload them to a separate service like Dropbox or Google Drive. When users share documents in Asana with other users who also use Google Docs, those users will then be able to edit the document directly in Google Docs without leaving the program. Users can then save what they have done back into Asana so that their changes are reflected in the original document they shared. This paper has helped demonstrate why it is so important to integrate Asana and Google Docs when possible. The ability to share documents between the two programs provides users with greater flexibility in how they work with information. This helps improve efficiency and productivity results in less stress in the workplace.
