Amazon Web Services IoT makes it easy to cplect, store, and analyze data generated from connected devices using the cloud. The service, which is based on Amazon Kinesis, uses secure MQTT messaging, which can be securely routed to other AWS components for further processing.
Integration of Apptivo and AWS IOT
The Apptivos product team recently implemented AWS IoT for apptivo mobile applications, this provides users with Apptivo mobile apps the ability to connect with AWS services for products like S3, DynamoDB, IoT service and Lambda functions. This will allow application developers to develop mobile apps that take advantage of AWS IoT services. Customers can now design mobile apps that connect directly to AWS IoT services including S3, DynamoDB or Lambda functions without any intermediary gateway or server in between. They can also send any application logs or metrics directly to AWS IoT for storage in S3 buckets. This reduces latency in order to get real-time updates in the product usability.
The Apptivo mobile applications can easily integrate with AWS IoT service to send events or telemetry data to AWS IoT using the MQTT protocp. With the integration of Apptivo and AWS IoT service, Apptivo customers can now work in a secure manner in order to maintain the integrity of their data by moving it in the cloud rather than storing it on their own servers. The main advantage of the Apptivo and AWS IoT integration is that it saves time by reducing cloud costs by leveraging AWS services instead of building applications from scratch. The Apptivo platform utilizes the MQTT protocp which allows for high-level security encryption. This protects each piece of data that is received or sent by the mobile app. Data is transferred over TLS connections with mutual authentication and encryption utilizing AES256-SHA algorithms (or another algorithm if desired. With the MQTT protocp, there is no need for additional software or hardware components; all that is required is an MQTT broker in the cloud. The broker receives messages from devices when they are ready to send them and passes these messages on to other components in your architecture when they are available.
