Integration of Amazon SQS and Vimeo

Amazon SQS

Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS. is a distributed, web service that enables communication between components of cloud applications. It provides reliable, highly-scalable hosted queues for storing messages as they travel between computers so these components can coordinate their actions. Amazon SQS moves the queue to the cloud, so your apps scale automatically and you don’t have to worry about capacity planning, hardware provisioning, or software upgrades.

Amazon SQS supports two models for accessing queues — standard queues and FIFO queues. Standard queues are accessed from any computer with an Internet connection, while FIFO queues can be accessed only by computers in a specific AWS region.

Standard queues provide two types of access. Simple Queue Access Protocp (SQAP. and HTTP. The SQAP interface is used for low-level interaction with the queue and is primarily used by other AWS services. HTTP access is used to send and receive messages using standard web protocps. The HTTP interface supports XML or JSON message formatting.

FIFO queues support only HTTP access. FIFO queues are designed to store information that changes frequently, such as user session data. However, Amazon SQS does not guarantee FIFO ordering of messages in the queue.
