Amazon SQS supports fully managed queues for applications running on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2. and other AWS services such as Amazon Elastic MapReduce (Amazon EMR), Amazon Elastic Beanstalk, and Amazon CloudFront. Messages can be sent to an Amazon SQS queue from any application that supports sending HTTP requests. These applications include the Blesta API.

The API is used to create, send, and receive marketing campaigns and support cases. Blesta supports email, SMS, and Facebook Messenger marketing campaigns as well as support tickets.

    • Blesta can be used to schedule marketing emails and SMS automatically. For example, if a user wants to schedule the delivery of an email or SMS at a specific time or date, then Blesta can be used to do so. This is possible because scheduling can be done through the API by first creating a task, which is a message on a queue, and then having this message delivered at a specific time. These tasks can be filled on demand by users who have been given access to the API. To accomplish this, users will use the SES API to fill these tasks on demand. The tasks are then filled on demand using the Blesta API.

This includes creating a new case within the API interface as well as sending out mails and SMSes under a campaign. For example, if a user wants to create a marketing campaign from scratch using Blesta, then they can use the API interface to do so. They can create a case title, description, and address of both the sender and receiver of mails/SMSes under the campaign of their choice. They can also create a template for an email message or SMS of their choice. Once all of this information has been entered into the API interface of Blesta, it will automatically generate a task on an SQS queue from within the API interface of Blesta. Users can then fill this task on demand using the SES API to complete the process of creating a new marketing campaign from scratch.
