Amazon SQS is a message queuing service for building distributed applications. It can be used to build distributed web services and other applications that require communication between different parts of an application. For those who already have an Autotask account, it's easy to integrate Amazon SQS with Autotask. Autotask is a business management software which helps businesses manage their time, projects, and expenses.
Amazon SQS is an asynchronous messaging service that decouples the components of a distributed application, making it possible to handle a very high vpume of requests. SQS provides a “push” messaging model, where you don’t have to worry about the underlying infrastructure of how the message will be delivered, or if the receiving end is ready to receive it. You simply send a message and let AWS SQS do the rest of the work. In fact, there are many use cases of this feature. One example is data transfer. In a legacy system, data would have to be retrieved from one system and then sent to another system. The problem with this approach is that there is no guarantee that both systems will respond at the same time. This means that a message could sit waiting in the queue on one system for a long time before finally being forwarded on to the next system. By using Amazon SQS, you could create a separate thread in your application that sends the message to Amazon SQS when it arrives in your legacy system. Amazon SQS would then push this message out to the next system in the background.
Autotask is a cloud business management spution designed for small-medium business. It consists of three main modules—ERP, CRM, and Project Management—which help users manage their time, projects, and expenses. When connecting Amazon SQS with Autotask, it allows Autotask users to send messages to Amazon SQS whenever something notable happens in their Autotask account. For instance, if someone creates a new project in Autotask, an automatic message can be sent back to Amazon SQS in order to record the project in your Amazon SQS App. Then, when Twilio receives an incoming call, it can check Amazon SQS to see if there are any new projects in your app that are ready to be processed through Twilio. If so, Twilio can then process that project through its voice recognition system and then send the resulting text back into Amazon SQS, where it will be processed by your app.
The process to integrate Amazon SQS and Autotask may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
