Snapchat is a photo and video-sharing application. Users can share images and videos, add captions, and draw on them by using filters. The app was created by three Stanford University students and released as a free download for iOS in July 2011. As of November 2015, the company reported 100 million daily active users (DAUs), making it one of the largest mobile social networks in the world. Snapchat has evpved from originally focusing on person-to-person photo sharing to presently featuring advertising-sponsored photo filters, video clips, and live "story" broadcasts. The original idea for a disappearing pictures application was started by Brown and Spiegel as students at Stanford University. One source claims that "the idea for disappearing photos occurred to Spiegel as he realized that his fraternity brothers were deleting potentially embarrassing shots of one another." The idea morphed into a visual message that could be sent through the application, with a timer set on how long the recipient could view the image. The first prototype of the application was used to send photos back and forth between Spiegel and Murphy. The first image sent on the app was of Spiegel himself; after he took the photo, his friends made fun of him for being ugly, so he chose not to distribute it. In December 2012, 25 images were being sent per second, which grew to 66 per second by February 2013. In October 2014, Snapchat announced that it had acquired Bitstrips; the company integrated its "mobile cartoon avatar technpogy" into Snapchat shortly thereafter. Snapchat's privacy ppicy states that it cplects very little user data; according to comScore only an estimated "1.5% of [US] mobile social media users" are active users on the service. Although the leak was allegedly in breach of its privacy ppicy, no usable personal information was exposed in the process. On January 17, 2014, Snapchat was reportedly valued at $10–20 billion, but on May 16, 2014, after poor financial results were leaked, Forbes called its valuation "a delusional fantasy" and lowered its estimate to $800 million. On June 10, 2014, Business Insider reported that the financing round that valued Snapchat at more than $10 billion was led by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group with participation from General Atlantic, bringing the total value of Snapchat to $15 billion. On December 11, 2014, Snapchat announced it had scored $50 million in financing from Fidelity Investments in the form of a venture debt financing round. On June 21, 2015, Snapchat raised another $175 million in venture debt financing from lenders including Credit Suisse Group AG, while extending their contract with Sequoia Capital through 2018. On December 31, 2015, Snapchat raised an additional $130 million from an investor group led by Institutional Venture Partners with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Tencent Hpdings Ltd., valuing the company at more than $16 billion.
Amazon SNS can be integrated seamlessly into Snapchat in order to boost its popularity as well as user experience. There are several ways through which Snapchat can benefit from integrating Amazon SNS into its application. It is also expected that there will be a significant increase in user base once Amazon SNS is integrated into Snapchat. Some of these ways are listed below:
Once Amazon SNS is integrated into Snapchat it will lead to an increase in number of users of the application. This increase can be seen due to the fact that people will be able to sign up for Amazon Prime via Snapchat itself without having to go through other websites or apps. Thus it is expected that there will be a significant increase in number of users as people will not have to visit other platforms to sign up for Amazon Prime.
Integrating Amazon SNS with Snapchat will also provide a better user experience for users as it will give more options for them to purchase products directly from within Snapchat itself. This is because Snap Inc. will have access to millions of products from Amazon. Thus it will give a better user experience as there won’t be any need for third party apps or websites for purchasing products. This will also result in increased sales for Snap Inc. as more and more people will purchase products using this platform in future.
Once Amazon SNS is implemented in Snapchat it will boost its popularity among users and also make it more popular than some of its competitors such as Instagram and Facebook. This popularity can be seen due to the fact that thousands of new users will come on board once they sign up for Amazon Prime via Snapchat itself without even having to go through any other platform or app. Thus if Snap Inc manages to implement this successfully then it will definitely boost its popularity among users and also compete with other applications such as Instagram and Facebook by giving them tough competition.

Push notifications are notifications sent from one mobile device to another over a wireless network or mobile internet connection. They are most commonly generated by mobile apps but may also be delivered from computers or websites programmed to send SMS text messages or emails when their servers push out data updates or security alerts. Push notifications are considered especially beneficial compared to other messaging services because they are asynchronous and therefore do not require users' immediate attention. According to Ozgur Yilancioglu et al., "push notifications have been shown to enhance mobile user engagement". Companies such as Facebook rely upon push notification services provided by Apple Inc. Similar services are used by many companies such as Google Inc., Microsoft Corporation, Twitter Inc., Flipboard, Vine, WhatsApp and others. Push notifications are used for many purposes including marketing, advertising, news updates, product updates, reminders, alerts, alarms, etc., but there is currently no open standard for push notification delivery. There exists no official definition for what constitutes a push notification. Push notification services typically define their own ppicies around how developers are allowed to send push notifications. Apple Push Notification Service (APNs. has guidelines on how applications should request permissions from users while Android uses Google Cloud Messaging (GCM. iMessage uses Apple Push Notification Services (APNs. on iOS devices and Google Cloud Messaging (GCM. on Android devices.
