Freshteam is a cloud-based recruiting software that helps companies to quickly and easily manage job applicants. For those who don’t know, Amazon SNS (Simple Notification Service. is a web service provided by AWS (Amazon Web Services. where you can send messages to subscribers. In the fplowing paragraphs, we will demonstrate how Freshteam can be integrated with Amazon SNS and what advantages this integration brings.
The integration of Freshteam and Amazon SNS can be achieved in two ways. sending messages from Freshteam to Amazon SNS and sending messages from Amazon SNS to Freshteam. Here we will demonstrate both.
Sending messages from Freshteam to Amazon SNS
What we need to do is to direct all notifications from Freshteam to Amazon SNS. This way, we can send messages about the latest changes in the recruitments directly to our fplowers on Amazon SNS. To do so, we only need to set up an Amazon SNS topic and link it to Freshteam. To set up an Amazon SNS topic, we just need to go to the Amazon SNS conspe and fill out the form as shown in fig.1:

Once the topic is set up, we need to configure it on Freshteam. To do so, go to Settings > Email Notifications & Recruiter Notifications > Recruitment Notifications > Filters & Rule Filters. After that, select the filter that matches with your notification type as shown in fig.2:

Now you need to set up a filter rule on Freshteam. There are two ways for this. One is to create a filter rule directly on the page as shown in fig.3(a), or you can create it on the Manage Rules page as shown in fig.3(b):

But if you choose the second way, there are some differences between choosing the options on Manage Rules and choosing them on the page. If you choose “Send Notifications Only” option on the page, it means that only notifications will be sent through Amazon SNS, but if you choose it on Manage Rules, it means that notifications will be sent through Amazon SNS only if the conditions are met (we will explain this later. Therefore, if you want to send notifications through Amazon SNS at all times, you should choose “Send Notifications Only” option on the page as shown in fig.4(a. But if you want to send notifications through Amazon SNS only when some conditions are met (for example, when the position was filled), you should choose “Send Only Hired Candidates” option on Manage Rules as shown in fig.4(b):

For now, we have setup an Amazon SNS topic and connected it to Freshteam. Now we need to configure its topics on Freshteam so that all notifications will be sent through Amazon SNS as shown in fig.5(a):

We can configure our topics according to our needs or let Freshteam decide where the notifications will be sent automatically (as shown in fig.5(b). according to the content of our notifications:

Now whenever there is a change in any of our recruitments, we will see that notification is sent through Amazon SNS as shown in fig.6:

Sending messages from Amazon SNS to Freshteam
We have explained how we can send notifications through Amazon SNS from Freshteam to our fplowers already above, so we will focus on how we can get messages from our fplowers on Amazon SNS and display them on Freshteam’s dashboard. We can get these messages by subscribing to our categories on Freshteam and linking them with our topics on Amazon SNS. That way, every time someone subscribes to one of our categories and fplow us, we can get a message from them and display it on Freshteam’s dashboard as shown in fig.7:
