SNS enables the sending of notifications when events happen in an application. A notification is an HTTP message sent to a topic in SNS. When someone sends a notification to a topic, an event is published to the topic associated with the topic ARN. The topic ARN is the global identifier for the topic. Ecwid is an open source e-commerce platform that allows users to set up online stores without any programming knowledge required. It includes tops for selling digital and physical goods, managing inventory, shipping orders, and tracking performance.

Integration of Amazon SNS and Ecwid

There are two ways to integrate Amazon SNS and Ecwid. One way is by using the Amazon SNS API, which allows you to send messages to specific topics. The second way is by using the Ecwid API, which lets you send messages to the Ecwid subscribers directly via their email addresses after logging in to your store.

• Integration through Amazon SNS API

The fplowing steps show how to integrate Amazon SNS and Ecwid using the Amazon SNS API:

• First, create an Amazon SNS topic to receive notifications from Ecwid. For more information about creating an Amazon SNS topic, see CreateTopics in the Amazon Simple Notification Service API Reference documentation. Then, subscribe your topic with your Ecwid credentials (API key and secret key.
• Next, create an Amazon SNS subscription with the details of your email address(es. and your topic ARN. For more information about creating an Amazon SNS subscription, see CreateSubscription in the Amazon Simple Notification Service API Reference documentation. You can associate your subscription with multiple email addresses by using the destination parameter in the request body. Note that the destination parameter is optional; it defaults to one email address if none is specified.
• Finally, you can send a notification to your new Amazon SNS topic by calling the SendMessage action in the Amazon SNS API. For more information about sending a notification to an Amazon SNS topic, see SendMessage in the Amazon Simple Notification Service API Reference documentation.

• Integration through Ecwid API

The fplowing steps show how to integrate Amazon SNS and Ecwid using the Ecwid API:

• First, create your Ecwid account by visiting https://ecwid-1.com/signup/. You will have to enter your email address and provide a password during this step. On the next page, you will be asked to confirm your email address. After confirming your email address, you will be redirected back to your Ecwid account where you can proceed with setting up your store. You will need to install the Ecwid plugin on your website before integrating with Amazon SNS. You can find more information on installation at https://ecwid-1.com/install/.
• Once your store is set up on Ecwid, go to “My Shop” -> “Settings” -> “Integrations” -> “Amazon SNS” . Here you can either choose to use your existing Amazon SNS topic or create a new one. Then, configure it by filling out your “Topic ARN” and “Registrar ARN” fields, and choosing whether you would like to know when each new notification arrives via email or in a separate tab in Ecwid. Click on “Save Changes” once your settings are complete.
• Now that your integration settings are saved on Ecwid, all you have left to do is add an add-on such as “Abandoned Cart Notifications” ($9/month. Add-ons can be found under “Sales” > “Add-ons” > “Add New”. Then, fplow the instructions provided by the add-on developer in order to activate and configure it properly.
