In October 2014, Amazon launched a new on-demand delivery program called Seller Flex which allows delivery companies to deliver packages to customers on behalf of Amazon using their own branded trucks, delivering packages when they have capacity available in their trucks at no additional cost to Amazon. To take advantage of program, sellers must ship their products to an Amazon fulfillment center and pay for the products to be stored there for up to 15 days. In April 2016, Amazon launched a program aimed at letting sellers receive payments faster and for free through its Instant Payment Notification system. Under the program, sellers of products like books and t-shirts who fulfill orders through Amazon get paid within 5 days of shipping their items. Previously, sellers could wait as long as 30 days before receiving payment and had to pay to ship their goods to Amazon warehouses in order to qualify for the free shipping offer.6. In May 2016, Amazon launched a program called Seller Fulfilled Prime, which gives Prime members who are small vendors the ability to buy a product from another vendor and have it shipped directly to a customer with Prime shipping benefits. The Vendor is responsible for handling all customer service and returns.7. In August 2016, Amazon announced that it would allow third party sellers to sell their products on the site using the existing Marketplace infrastructure rather than paying a listing fee or commission charge while giving them access to Amazon's backend promotional tools such as Deal of the Day, Lightning Deals and Simple Storage Service for photos and videos. As part of this change, some non-merchandise items that were previously listed in the Marketplace catalog were removed from the catalog and placed into a separate "Amazon's Choice" section for third party seller listings only. The move was intended to allow third party sellers to compete against big brands on equal terms and without having to pay commissions.[48][49]8. In November 2016, Amazon launched "Amazon Exclusives," an online shopping platform which promotes different products each month that are available exclusively to Amazon Prime members.[50]9.
