Integration of Amazon S3 and Product Hunt

Amazon S3

Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), often referred to as “S3”, is an online storage web service offered by Amazon Web Services. It is designed to make web-scale cloud storage more cost effective and reliable. S3 has a simple data storage model, where objects are stored in buckets, and each bucket can contain up to 5 terabytes of data. Buckets can be replicated across different data centers for redundancy and performance reasons. AWS customers have have access to the S3 API or they can use one of the many third-party tops to work with the service.

Product Hunt

Product Hunt is a website that lets users share and discover new products through word of mouth. Users submit products, vote on products, comment on them, and discuss them. The site serves as a place where the community can discuss new products to help early adopters decide what to buy next. Submitted products can come from anywhere and users can quickly comment on them and mark the product as “hunting” or “not hunting”. The site was founded in November 2013 by Ryan Hoover and announced on Hacker News.

Amazon S3 and Product Hunt. Integration of Amazon S3 and Product Hunt

Product Hunt provides a very useful platform for people to discover new products, but it only works when the user is online. If a new product is submitted offline, it can take hours until all users receive an email notification. By using Amazon S3, Product Hunting could reduce the time users have to wait to discover new products offline. There would be no need for Product Hunt to send out notifications of new products right away because information would be saved on Amazon S3 and automatically be pushed to users when they log back online. Product Hunt could also use Amazon S3 for backups of all their data so that all data used for Product Hunt servers would be backed up in the event of a disaster. All this would greatly reduce the risk of losing critical data that drives Salesforce, such as product pages, voting, and commenting history.

Benefits of Integration of Amazon S3 and Product Hunt

Since all of Product Hunt’s data is archived onto Amazon S3, there is no longer a need to worry about catastrophic failures in the cloud. Also, since it avoids storing a large quantity of data locally in a single location, there is less risk of a disaster in which a single physical location is overwhelmed by data loss. In addition, since Product Hunt is built on Salesforce, integration with Amazon S3 would allow support representatives to set up an automated workflow from Product Hunt to Salesforce that allows responses from users to be captured into records in Salesforce for future reference. This would eliminate the need for Product Hunt support representatives to manually input customer feedback from Product Hunt into Salesforce.

The process to integrate Amazon S3 and Product Hunt may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
