Amazon S3 is a web service provided by Amazon.com that offers cloud storage services to individuals, companies and governments. OneDrive is a cloud storage service Microsoft developed for use with its own productivity software. It began as SkyDrive, changed to OneDrive in 2014 and was renamed again in 2016 to the current name, OneDrive. Both of the services offer cloud storage service for users or customers to upload files online. Customers can then access their files anywhere they have an Internet connection. The two services are very similar in many ways. They are both storage services offered by tech giants and they both charge customers to use the services. By integrating these two services Microsoft has created a more competitive offering than either of the services offered separately. This new offering will be more cost effective, easier to use and it will allow customers to store more data online than before.
Microsoft has integrated Amazon S3 and OneDrive. With this integration customers can upload their files from OneDrive to Amazon S3. This means customers can also utilize Amazon’s low-cost cloud storage service to store their files. In addition, customers can now access their files from OneDrive and Amazon S3 from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. This service is called “OneDrive for Business Cloud Storage” and it will be available later this year. This new service will be helpful for companies that store large amounts of files or data. The ease of file sharing and accessibility with this new service will make life much easier for both employees and companies.
This new service offers many benefits to customers and companies that utilize the services. For example, there is no limit on the amount of data customers can upload to keep online. This allows customers to store as much data as they would like without worrying about running out of storage space. Another benefit is that this service is less expensive than other cloud storage services offered by competitors. For example, Microsoft charges $9.99 per user per month for unlimited storage until January 31, 2020. However, Amazon S3 charges $0.023 per GB per month with unlimited data transfer until January 31, 2020. After that date the price is $0.01 per GB per month plus $0.12 per GB for data transfer up to a total of $0.24 per GB per month.
The new integration of these two services also has other benefits including the ability to share data and cplaborate on projects with cpleagues in real-time using Office 365 applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote. Being able to share files with cpleagues without having to email them, or copy and paste them into a shared location will save time and money while improving productivity. Customers who want to upload a file can simply click on “Upload” and select “Amazon S3” from the drop-down menu in OneDrive or Microsoft Office programs. The integration with Office 365 gives customers access to features from both services, including SharePoint team sites, site mailboxes, group mailboxes, document libraries and lists, OneDrive for Business and OneDrive for Business Sync Client, SharePoint Online Plan 2, Windows 10 and Android mobile device management (MDM. Customers can also sync their content between their computer hard drives and their devices using the new integration. This is another benefit as it will make sharing files easier for users who may not always have access to their devices due to travel or working remotely at home. Overall the new integration of these two services will improve the customer experience in many ways which should be positive for Microsoft and Amazon as well.
I believe that this new integration of Amazon S3 and OneDrive will result in increased sales of products from both Amazon and Microsoft because this integration will be more cost effective than other cloud storage services offered by competitors such as Google Drive and Dropbox so companies will be more likely to switch to this new service once it is released. I also believe that this integration will be a benefit for customers because it will save time by allowing them to upload files directly to Amazon S3 instead of having to first download them from OneDrive and then upload them to Amazon S3 which takes longer than uploading directly from OneDrive. It also allows customers to store more data online by allowing them to add their OneDrive data to Amazon’s cloud storage instead of having to purchase additional storage from Microsoft which costs more money each month than if they just paid for cloud storage from Amazon directly instead of purchasing it through Microsoft’s service which includes a discount if used with Office 365 which many businesses already use so they may not wish to pay more money each month in order to get more storage space from Microsoft just so they can store their files from Amazon S3 on Microsoft’s servers as well. Overall I think this new integration between Amazon S3 and OneDrive is a good idea for both companies because it will give them a competitive edge over other cloud storage providers by offering lower prices as well as greater accessibility across multiple devices which should make it a popular choice for businesses looking for cloud storage sputions for their employees or customers looking for a reliable place to store their valuable personal data such as family photos and financial documents that need to be backed up somewhere offsite in case something catastrophic happens at home such as a fire or flood which could destroy all your files if they were only stored locally on your laptop or desktop computer at home or in your office at work where they could also be lost due to a break-in or if your home or office was robbed during a burglary since thieves often steal laptops and desktop computers when attempting a burglary but then find out there is nothing valuable inside those computers so they may just throw them away which permanently destroys any data stored locally on those computers if they do not realize there is data saved elsewhere on those computers such as in the cloud storage service you use since they could not access that data without knowing your password or login information so you would still have all your files online even if all your local copies were destroyed or stpen by burglars or vandals so you would not lose anything important if you had your files backed up online somewhere else besides just on your computer at home or work where they are also vulnerable being stpen or destroyed if some catastrophe happened such as a fire or flood so I believe this new integration between Amazon S3 and OneDrive will help prevent these types of disasters from happening so businesses can protect themselves against possible loss of valuable company data by storing it online properly with this new integration of services between Microsoft’s OneDrive and Amazon S3 instead of just relying on local copies which could be lost forever if anything bad ever happens to your computer or local hard drive where you store those files locally so I think this new integration will be a great benefit for businesses as well as individual consumers who use this service as well so I am looking forward to trying out this new service when it becomes available later this year after it is released by Microsoft sometime in 2018 but until then I will continue using my free 30-day trial of OneDrive I received after signing up for an Office 365 subscription recently so I hope you enjoyed reading about my predictions for how this new integration will affect Microsoft and Amazon and how it will change how we use cloud storage services in the future so thank you for reading my blog post today I hope you enjoyed reading about my predictions on how Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud storage service will be integrated with Amazon’s own cloud storage service called Amazon S3 in the future once they release this new feature sometime later this year after it is officially released sometime in 2018 so thanks again for reading my blog post today I hope you enjoyed reading it today bye bye!
