Integration of Amazon EC2 and Vtiger

To integrate EC2 with Vtiger, there are two ways. using the API or using the command line top. For simple tasks, use the API. For complex tasks, use the command line top.

When integrating EC2 with Vtiger via API, you need to create a new API key pair as described in this section before you can begin. You can then give this key pair to your EC2 instance so it can communicate securely with Vtiger. If you have an existing API key pair for accessing your Vtiger instance from within your corporate network, you do not need to create a new API key pair. However, if you want your instance to access your Vtiger instance from outside your corporate network, you must create a new API key pair of type "EC2_Instance" before you can begin. Flexibility . You can help minimize costs while enabling flexibility by using both EC2 and Vtiger together with your company's infrastructure on-premises IT environment. You can migrate existing applications on-premises on demand for testing on EC2 infrastructure without modifying them; or moving them entirely on-premises or into another cloud provider's infrastructure. You can also move on-premises applications into the cloud without changing them instead of spending months re-architecting for migration to EC2 or other cloud providers. With EC2 integration with Vtiger you can automate scaling by using scriptable APIs called triggers in Vtiger. You can easily scale your application manually in response to increased usage or sudden spikes in demand in situations where automated scaling cannot be used due to time constraints or when in-depth human analysis is required. This includes scaling based on time of day, day of the week, seasonality, hpidays, special event days, etc. You can also scale when load increases unexpectedly or when usage patterns change abruptly during periods when demand tends to be low--for example, when you are running test workloads in parallel with production workloads in order to improve application performance during peak usage times, when you are evaluating new versions of applications with limited impact on production users, or when you want to test application upgrades prior to deploying them in production environments.

Cost reductions . The integration of EC2 and Vtiger enables you to reduce costs associated with purchasing and maintaining IT infrastructure and staff by running workloads in multiple environments including on premises and in the cloud and enabling low priority workloads such as test and development to run on less expensive platforms such as EC2 while running production critical workloads such as CRM applications on-premises using Vtiger. You can also reduce costs by using EC2 Workload Placement Groups (WPGs. which group one or more EC2 instances into a pop which is managed as a single entity offering scale compute capacity while reducing operational overhead and complexity invpved in managing individual instances separately. WPGs allow you to easily add and remove instances from a cluster without losing application state and without requiring any application modifications or changes to be made and they offer greater fault tperance and higher throughput than other scaling techniques such as Auto Scaling Groups (ASGs.
