Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud or Amazon EC2 is a web service offered by Amazon Web Services. It provides a user with the capability to rent virtual machine instances that can be used for diverse purposes such as web servers, application servers, and database servers. These virtual machines are known as Amazon Machine Images or AMIs. An AMI is basically a virtual hard drive in the cloud which contains a precise operating system, software and configuration settings. These AMIs are created by Amazon or any third party vendor and can be downloaded from AWS Marketplace. AWS Marketplace is a marketplace provided by AWS where AMIs of various third party vendors can be downloaded and deployed. The user can also create his/her own AMI using Amazon Machine Image (AMI. Creator. This image can then be uploaded to AWS Marketplace for the use of other users. AMI creation is not only limited to Amazon's user's but it can also be used by third parties to create their own images and sell it through AMI Marketplace.
Slack is an instant messaging app for teams and businesses. It is designed for people who need to work together, communicate in real time, and stay connected on the go. It allows users to share documents, images, videos, etc. with their team members. A user can choose to make his/her team public so that other people can join their team without adding them as a friend or contact. In addition, Slack also provides its users with the option of creating a workspace that is accessible through a URL.Slack integrates with many other products and services and provides APIs so that developers can build integrations between Slack and other applications. Some of these integrations include integration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Analytics, GitHub, Google Drive, Dropbox and Twitter among others.
Slack provides its users with the option of integrating their workspace with many services including Google Analytics, GitHub, etc. Similar to other services, Slack also provides an option of integrating with AWS EC2. This integration helps the users cost effectively run their applications on AWS EC2 while at the same time utilizing other features of Slack like sharing documents, images, videos, etc.In order to integrate AWS EC2 with Slack, an Amazon Machine Image (AMI. which is identified by an "ami-XXXXXX" string is required. Currently, the only AMI available for integration with Slack is the "ami-0f8c1d46", which is the latest Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr. 64 bit EBS-backed instance. Once the AMI is launched, it will create a public DNS entry that points to its public IP address. The user has to register this public IP address with Slack so that they can establish a connection between their workspace and AWS EC2.Once this registration process is complete, all messages posted publicly in slack are automatically posted on the workspace associated with the AMI in AWS EC2. Also, any messages posted in AWS EC2 are automatically posted publicly in Slack workspace. In addition to this, any file posted in AWS EC2 will be copied to the root directory of the workspace associated with the instance.Slack has integrated AWS EC2 and associated it with two workspaces. "slack-private" and "slack-public." Any message posted publicly in slack-private is posted privately on slack workspace associated with ami-0f8c1d46. Similarly any message posted publicly in slack-public is posted publicly on slack workspace associated with ami-0f8c1d46.
1. Cost Effective.Slack provides its users with an opportunity to run their applications in an efficient way without paying a lot of money on server infrastructure and resources. One does not need to maintain a server for running their application as this can be done on AWS EC2 at a fraction of cost involved in maintaining a dedicated server infrastructure. This helps save money which otherwise would have been spent on buying hardware and maintaining it by hiring people for administration and maintenance purposes. This integration also ensures that one can utilize other features of Slack like sharing documents, images, videos etc., at no extra cost.2. Scalability. The ability of scaling requires an elasticity that is provided by cloud computing i.e. one can scale up or down according to their requirements without having to worry about over-provisioning or under provisioning resources. With this integration one can utilize both the benefits of cloud computing i.e. scalability and pay as you go model without having to manage applications and servers on their own or hire people to manage them for you. This again helps save money as one does not have to invest in over-provisioning resources when demand is low or hire more people to handle load when demand goes up during the peak hours instead one just pays per usage which helps keep costs down and reduces operational costs significantly.3. Integration with Other Software.Slack supports integration with many other services like Google Analytics, GitHub, etc., making it easier for businesses to connect and collaborate with each other on various aspects in a seamless way and thus improving productivity significantly. Integration with AWS EC2 enables users to utilize Slack's integration feature for several other software applications which helps improve productivity as well as overall business performance in general. The integration improves business performance by allowing businesses to communicate better internally as well as externally thus making teamwork more effective; this consequently improves overall business performance as employees are able to focus more on their core responsibilities and improve productivity by helping others perform better too; this also increases employee satisfaction which further in turn increases overall business performance by improving customer satisfaction levels too which leads to increased revenue generation and higher profits for a business; this also leads to faster decision making which again improves business performance by ensuring that business decisions are made faster than its competitors thus giving it an edge over them; this again increases overall business performance by increasing market share which leads to increased revenue generation; this increase in revenue helps reduce costs, thus leading to increased profitability of a business; this improved profitability leads to increased investor confidence in the company which eventually leads to increased capital investment in the company; this increased capital investment helps the company expand its business operations thus leading to increased revenue generation which again leads to profit generation thus improving overall business performance greatly thus helping achieve competitive advantage over its competitors along with ensuring long term sustainable growth for businesses in general; therefore overall business performance is improved significantly due to slack's integration with AWS EC2.4. Ability To Scale Up And Scale Down.Cloud computing offers its users an opportunity to scale up or down depending on their requirements without having to worry about over provisioning or under provisioning resources respectively; this integration enables users to take advantage of this benefit by ensuring that they don't need to hire additional people or buy additional infrastructure when their workload increases during peak hours and vice versa during off peak hours when workload is low; this helps save money as one doesn't need to commit fixed costs on infrastructure; this again reduces operational costs significantly thus helping businesses save money overall; this increased savings helps reduce prices further thus helping businesses win customers easily by offering better prices than its competitors; this again increases overall business performance by increasing sales volume which again leads to increased revenue generation; this increase in revenue helps reduce costs further thus leading to increased profitability of businesses; this improved profitability leads to increased investor confidence in the company which eventually leads to increased capital investment in the company; this increased capital investment helps the company expand its business operations thus leading to increased revenue generation which again leads to profit generation thus improving overall business performance greatly thus helping achieve competitive advantage over its competitors along with ensuring long term sustainable growth for businesses in general; therefore overall business performance is improved significantly due to slack's integration with AWS EC2.5. Peace Of Mind.Businesses usually require most bandwidth during peak hours when most employees are present at work till late night; this integration ensures that bandwidth utilization is automatically adjusted according to changes in workload so that they don't lose access during peak hours when most employees are present at work and bandwidth requirements are high; this ensures that employees get uninterrupted access throughout the day without having to worry about bandwidth constraints posed by lack of appropriate infrastructure at work place; this integration also ensures that businesses do not lose access even during off peak hours when most employees leave office early before peak hour ends and bandwidth requirements decrease significantly because there will be no decrease in bandwidth usage throughout the day even after off peak hours start; therefore due to these reasons businesses save money on bandwidth costs as they don't have to pay for bandwidth beyond what they actually use unlike traditional networks where they have to pay fixed charges irrespective of how much bandwidth they
