Integration of Amazon DynamoDB and monday.com

The architecture of monday.com is that it has an API Gateway that is built with NodeJS. The API Gateway is responsible for all the requests made to monday.com. All requests to monday.com are made through the API Gateway using http(s. requests. The API Gateway converts all requests into json format and passes them to the monday.io module which is written in Ruby on Rails. Based on the data sent by the API Gateway, monday.io will manage an application event stream which can be pushed back into Slack or HipChat (or any other chat platform.

The integration of Amazon DynamoDB with the rest of the architecture is done with the help of AWS Lambda functions. These Lambda functions are triggered whenever any change is made due to the creation of an event in DynamoDB. A Lambda function for each integration (Slack, HipChat etc.. is created with the help of the monday.io module responsible for the communication platform (in this case Slack. The Lambda functions are responsible for pushing changes to the chat platforms (Slack.

Benefits of Integration of Amazon DynamoDB and monday.com

The benefits that come from integrating Amazon DynamoDB with monday.com are:

Reduced latency. If the data were stored in other databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL then it would take longer to get updated results to the user because these databases are not very scalable compared to Amazon DynamoDB and takes a long time to respond to queries or change requests. This would result in users getting slower response times and hence it would affect their experience with the app while using it. But with Amazon DynamoDB we can get faster response times and hence we can make the app experience better for users while using it, by reducing latency to a minimum.

Faster query execution. Queries that were run on other databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL would take longer than it would take to run on Amazon DynamoDB because Amazon DynamoDB is a NoSQL database which means queries do not have to go through joins and indexes like they would on other databases and so they can execute faster and hence improve performance.

Cost effective. Costing effective refers to how much money you save while using Amazon DynamoDB to store your data compared to using other databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL because Amazon DynamoDB is cheaper than these other databases and also provides better performance than these other databases when running queries against them. So in this sense cost effective means saving money while still maintaining good performance when running queries against them.

The process to integrate Amazon DynamoDB and monday.com may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
