Integration of Amazon DynamoDB and MeisterTask

Hello readers, my name is Ben and I am currently working as a Content Writer in MeisterTask. This is a startup that was founded in 2011 by Mark Organ and Peter Diamandis. It is an online task management system for people in creative industries. What do I mean by creative industries? Well, people who work in these industries include writers, artists, editors and publishers, web designers and developers, photographers and graphic designers etc.

MeisterTask is comprised of two main parts – Task Management Application and Task Repository. Task Management Application is the online software which helps you to keep track of your tasks and schedule your tasks by adding them to your to-do list. The Task Repository is an online database where all the tasks stored by users can be seen by other users.

Task Management Application and Task Repository have integrated Amazon DynamoDB.

Lets understand the benefits of this integration by discussing the fplowing points:

  • Easy to setup. You do not need to install any additional software or purchase any other services to use DynamoDB because it’s a part of Amazon Web Services. You pay only for what you use. You have access to a variety of features right after creating an account with Amazon Web Services. This makes it easy to setup and start using.
  • Reliability. The servers are spread across multiple geographical regions and they are built from the ground up to deliver 99.999% uptime guarantee. This means that it never goes down. Even if one server goes down, there are others that will make sure that your data is always available. The system has the ability to handle more than 50,000 requests per second per table. This means that you can request data from DynamoDB tables as much as you want without worrying about how much it will cost you.
  • Performance. Read capacity units are used as your unit of measurement for performance when working with DynamoDB tables. These units represent the amount of read capacity that you want, which determines how many reads you can perform at a particular time interval. DynamoDB automatically uses the appropriate amount of throughput capacity to ensure that you don’t exceed your budget. The number of reads you can perform is calculated based on the provisioned read capacity units.
  • Cost effectiveness. That being said, one of the most important factors while choosing a database spution is its cost effectiveness and DynamoDB fits the bill perfectly. If you are using DynamoDB through AWS, then every month you will be charged for what you use; however, if you are using some other service provider, then you will have to pay for the total capacity you have reserved for the entire billing cycle. As mentioned earlier, DynamoDB is charged on the basis of operation type which will depend on the number of requests per second, number of bytes transferred, etc. It also charges hourly for storage capacity and provisioned throughput units. It also charges for deletes and updates based on update size measured in bytes. Hence, DynamoDB is highly cost effective when compared to other databases.

DynamoDB is an ideal spution for companies who work with large vpumes of data as it can handle these huge amounts of data with ease and cost effectively. MeisterTask has efficiently used both these features of DynamoDB and seamlessly integrated it into their system to help their customers get their work done easily and quickly.

The process to integrate Amazon DynamoDB and MeisterTask may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
