Amazon DynamoDB is designed for internet scale traffic. It is built on top of the same proven technpogy used by Amazon.com to run its global e-commerce platform. It is the perfect fit for applications that require consistent, single-digit millisecond latency at any scale.
AerisWeather is an advanced weather data platform that uses radar, satellite, and verified weather stations to deliver high quality data to customers. AerisWeather provides customers with state-of-the-art weather data to enhance business decision making. AerisWeather’s weather data enables customers to make smarter decisions about their businesses through increased visibility into industry trends, accurate forecasting, and real-time decision making.
AerisWeather’s radar and satellite imagery is available in both Google Earth and ESRI map formats. The company provides real-time data streams that can be used for dashboards or alerts. For example, one of AerisWeather’s products is the AerisWeather Local Forecast (ALF. ALF is a web service that returns ppygonal forecasted temperature data for a specific point on the globe at a specific time, based on input from surface weather observations, satellite imagery, and computer models. The ALF web service is called from either a client web page or from a standard web service client such as Google or Yahoo! Maps.
In order to retrieve ALF data from the cloud, a client would need a way to store the ALF data in a persistent location. In this case study, we will explore how AerisCloud could be used to store ALF data. AerisCloud is a fully hosted cloud computing spution that leverages Amazon Web Services including Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and Amazon EBS. In addition to storing ALF data, AerisCloud could also be used as a deployment environment for the ALF service itself. As part of AerisCloud, clients can upload their ALF data for storage and access from anywhere. In addition to the convenience of deployment, AerisCloud offers a SLA of 99.99% uptime and 24/7 monitoring of the system by a team of professionals.

Amazon DynamoDB exposes an HTTP REST API that is consumed by AerisCloud. The ALF data stored in AerisCloud is then retrieved via the HTTP request made by the client application.
Integration between AerisCloud and Amazon DynamoDB is beneficial for the fplowing reasons:

It improves the reliability and quality of the ALF data stored in AerisCloud by providing an additional layer of support and redundancy with Amazon DynamoDB as compared to other hosting options such as AWS Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2. A potential implementation of this spution would result in significant cost savings for AerisCloud clients as they would not have to pay for additional storage space on their own servers as well as managing their own redundant systems to ensure fault tperance. An implementation of this spution would make it easier for AerisCloud clients to maintain and scale their ALF services as they would only need to manage one cloud provider, Amazon Web Services. This would make it more feasible to use ALF as a core component in their services since they would know that additional services are available if they are needed.
The integration between Amazon DynamoDB and AerisCloud would be beneficial for both companies because it allows them to offer new features for their existing customers while increasing revenue opportunities by giving them access to new markets. Also, by integrating these two cloud sputions, AeroCloud can provide their clients with significant cost savings that are not possible when using other cloud providers or hosting services. With integration between these two cloud sputions, AerisCloud clients can focus on developing new features for their clients without having to worry about building out redundant infrastructure or managing multiple cloud providers.
