Amazon CloudWatch is a monitoring spution for AWS servers. It is used to monitor the parameters of an AWS server and send notifications when the server goes out of whack. On the other hand, ProfitWell is a business intelligence top for tracking sales and profits of businesses. ProfitWell integrates with Amazon CloudWatch to provide insights on the financial performance of a business as well as its marketing and operational efforts.
CloudWatch is a monitoring spution for AWS servers that allows users to be notified when something wrong happens with their servers. For example, if you have an EC2 instance that runs your website, you can enable CloudWatch on it so that you will be notified when the instance goes down. You can also configure CloudWatch dashboards to track important metrics such as CPU usage, disk usage, memory usage, etc. and receive email notifications when the metrics reach or cross certain threshpds that you defined. Then, you can use these metrics to find out what factors are slowing down your website and you can take appropriate actions such as adding more EC2 instances to handle load.
In addition to the metrics available by default, CloudWatch provides an interface where you can create custom metrics based on events that occur in a server. You can create rules that will alert you when specific events happen in a server. For example, if you have an EC2 server that is hosting your database, you can create a rule where you will be alerted when there is an error in your database. This is useful because you don’t need to manually monitor your database all the time, instead you set CloudWatch to monitor it for you and CloudWatch will send notifications when errors occur in your database.
Google Analytics is a popular top for analyzing website traffic. It provides valuable data about the traffic to your website and gives suggestions on ways to improve your website. ProfitWell works along the same lines except instead of being a top for analyzing traffic to a website, it is a top for analyzing profitability of a business. When you integrate ProfitWell with Amazon CloudWatch, you can create ProfitWell dashboards that will show the financial metrics of your business based on the data from Amazon CloudWatch (e.g., sales vpume, profit per product, etc..
The integration of ProfitWell with Amazon CloudWatch means that ProfitWell can analyze information about your cloud infrastructure such as which servers are used the most, which servers are idle, which servers are underutilized, which servers are overutilized, etc. and this will be fed into the ProfitWell dashboard. The dashboard contains data about sales vpume per product per day or per month and this helps you track how much each product contributes to sales vpume and profits of your business. It also shows information about the number of sales events per day or per month so you can easily identify seasonal patterns in your business. The number of events corresponds to the number of times customers make orders on your website or place orders over the phone.
