Alegra is a free and open source software for small businesses to manage their contacts and customer relationship. Alegra is a complete CRM (Customer Relationship Management. Zoho Mail is also another free and open source email spution. This article will guide you about how to integrate Alegra with Zoho Mail. It is an excellent combination of two free and open source software. It provides an easy way to access all the emails from your desktop, web browser, mobile phone or tablet etc.
Alegra works on MySQL database. Zoho Mail is an open source email service which can be used as your own mail server. Zoho Mail allows you to use IMAP and POP3 protocp to access your emails from any other device like desktop, web browser, mobile phone or tablet etc.
First of all, download Alegra and Zoho Mail. Then fplow the steps below.
Step 1. Create a MySQL database in Alegra. Choose “Add a new User” option from Database tab. Enter a name for database user and password, then click on “Create User” button.
Step 2. Install Zoho Mail Bridge plugin in Alegra by fplowing the steps given below:

Step 3. Go to Admin tab -> Plugins tab -> Zoho Mail Bridge -> Edit, and check the box of “Enable this plugin”.
Step 4. Now go to User Management tab -> Add New User -> Choose “User Type” as “Group Member” -> Select “Admin” group/user -> Click on “Create New User” button.
Step 5. You will get an option to add a new member of “Admin” group. Choose “Zoho Mail Bridge” as his membership and set a password for him. Then click on “Save Changes” button.
Step 6. Now go to Admin tab -> Users tab -> Add New User -> Add one more user and make him a member of “Zoho Mail Bridge” group.
Step 7. Now go to your desktop/mobile phone and install Zoho Mail application. In this installation process, select that you want to connect Zoho Mail with Alegra by giving your database username, database password and email address which is provided by Alegra or your email client (in case you have already registered in Alegra.
That’s it! Now you can access all your mails from your desktop or mobile phone by using Zoho Mail app/application.
