Well, what is Alegra? Alegra is a cloud-based platform for global trade. It helps its users to manage small and big international shipments from the beginning to the end. Also, it provides a well-organized tracking service.
Alegra was founded in 2009 by a team of experts in the field of maritime transport and international logistics. The company has its headquarters in Singapore.
Typeform? Typeform is a Spanish company that develops online forms and surveys. It was founded in 2012 by Pablo Carrasco and David Okusanya. Typeform’s main office is located in Madrid, Spain.
Now let me describe to you what is Typeform:
Typeform is a web top for creating online forms and surveys. Firstly, the system asks you the necessary questions and then suggests various form fields and types of responses. Furthermore, there are several question types. multiple choice, text area, checkboxes, rating scales and others.
It seems that these two companies can complement each other and provide their users with better services. That’s why I decided to write this article.
Now I will start talking about the integration of Alegra and Typeform. First of all, both companies have an ecommerce feature. Each of them allows its users to buy goods online and to receive them at home or at their place of business. However, Alegra and Typeform differ in terms of product range. the former offers only shipping services while the latter has a wider range of products. Moreover, both companies offer their own e-payment systems. Alegra has Alipay and Typeform has Paypal. This means that Alegra’s customers can use Alipay to pay for their shipments while Typeform’s customers can use Paypal.
Let’s move on to integration. There are two kinds of integration between two different e-shops. vertical integration and horizontal integration. Vertical integration means that one company owns another company or takes part in its activity in some other ways. For example, it can be when one company owns warehouses or when one company integrates another company’s software into its own software. Horizontal integration means that two companies join their efforts in order to achieve more profits. It can be when two companies have the same product range or when they are engaged in the same business sector. In case of Alegra and Typeform, their integration is horizontal because both of them are e-shops just like Amazon or eBay. Also, both of them are engaged in ecommerce just like Amazon or eBay. They have similar product ranges so it makes no sense to have a vertical integration between them because it would be quite pointless to do so. Instead, horizontal integration makes more sense since they might be able to benefit from each other’s services.
For instance, Alegra customers can complete their purchase via Typeform’s website. When doing so, they will be offered to use Alipay without having to register on Alipay’s website (see Figure 1. It gives Alegra customers an opportunity not only to use Alipay but also to avoid the registration process which saves them some time. Furthermore, if Typeform customers want to use Paypal instead of Alipay, they only need to change the payment method on the order page (see Figure 2. Therefore, Alegra customers will be able to choose either Alipay or Paypal while Typeform customers will be able to choose either Alipay or Paypal. This will ultimately result in increased sales for both platforms.
