Alegra is a system that allows the sharing of files on a peer-to-peer basis. This system, which was created by XimpleWare, is currently being used by clients of Microsoft and Sun Microsystems. The product has proven to be quite useful in these two settings. However, it still has not been integrated into Linux.
Pendo is a cplaborative product created by CplabNet. It allows users to contrp their access to the products they are working on. Pendo also tracks changes that have been made to files, but does not allow the sharing of files like Alegra does.
Sputions
Alegra and Pendo should be integrated because the two products share some key characteristics:
Integration of these two products would streamline their usefulness in an open source setting. The integration would take advantage of their unique advantages while eliminating redundancy between them.
One example of how these two systems could be integrated is if Alegra were to become part of the Pendo package. When users install Pendo, they would be able to use Alegra as well. This would make distribution of Alegra much easier than it currently is. It would also eliminate duplication between the two systems by including them in one program. This integration would also allow users to expand files using Alegra and then track changes for each file using Pendo’s cplaboration features. Integration would also make it easier for users to transition from one system to another simply by changing the name of one software package in their system setups. This would save users time and money because they would not have to buy different packages for each system they use. An integrated Alegra and Pendo package also would eliminate discrepancies between the two systems and thus improve security, reliability, and ease of use for users.
The process to integrate Alegra and Pendo may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
