How Airtable & Sendinblue Integrations Work

Integration of Airtable and Sendinblue

Airtable is a software that is used for managing any kind of information, whether it is in the form of contacts, tasks or other such stuff. It can help people to keep all of their information in one place. The table view of Airtable is similar to something like an Excel sheet. It has a drag and drop interface, which makes it very easy to use.

Sendinblue is a cloud-based email marketing software. This allows companies to send emails, manage subscribers, and track engagement all in one place. Sendinblue offers three different subscription plans for companies to choose from. Starter, Pro, and Enterprise. According to https://sendinblue.com/pricing/, the starter plan is $49 per month and the enterprise plan is $499 per month.

Integration of Airtable and Sendinblue

There are three primary ways that Sendinblue integrates with Airtable. 1. Import contacts/leads into Sendinblue via Airtable merge tags; 2. Create a new contact/lead in Airtable from custom Sendinblue email template; 3. Create a new contact/lead in Airtable from Sendinblue email template. The first way requires you to create a merge tag within the “Add Cpumns” menu of your Airtable account. To do this, you must go to “Settings > Integrations” and search for “Sendinblue”. Then, go to “the ‘Log In’ tab and copy your credentials.” You can also access your Sendinbuey credentials using the same “Settings > Integrations” menu. Once you have your credentials, go back to the “’Settings > Integrations’ menu and select ‘Add Merge Tags’.” See image below:

Once you click ‘Add Merge Tags’ you will be directed to the Merge Tags page where you can see an example of a merge tag that is already created for you. Here you will want to copy the example merge tag and change it accordingly so that it will be useful to you later on in the process of importing your Airtable data into Sendinblue. Using this example merge tag, I will break down how the merge tag is set up so that you can understand how it works and how you can use your own Airtable data:

1.. Outbound Type. If you select ‘Email’ then Sendinblue will import all of the contacts/leads that are included in your Airtable spreadsheet into a new campaign once it finds them on your list.

2.. Merge Tag ID. This refers to the ID that you created when creating your merge tag within your Airtable account. Use the example merge tag above as a guide for how to create your own merge tag ID.

3.. Ignore empty rows. If you select yes, then Sendinblue will ignore any empty rows so that only rows with active data are imported into your account. If you select no, then Sendinblue will import every row as if it were active data.

4.. Merge Tag. This indicates what specific cpumn will be used to find matching data between Sendinblue and your Airtable account. For example, if you had created a cpumn called Company Name in your Airtable account, then this field would say Company Name=Company Name and would match up with the name of each company listed in your spreadsheet. If you had created a cpumn called Email Address in your Airtable account, then this field would say Email Address=Email Address and would match up with all of the email addresses listed in your spreadsheet. This takes some trial and error before you figure out what works best for your purposes.

Once you fill out all of your details and click save, then you will be redirected back to the “Settings > Integrations” menu where you can see that your merge tag has been added successfully. See image below:

Once you have created your merge tag within your Airtable account and saved it, then it is time to take this information and include it into the body of one of your emails in order to begin importing your contacts/leads into Sendinblue. In order to do this, you can copy and paste your newly created merge tag into your email template for a new campaign that you are working on or you can even add it as part of an existing template as well. All that matters is that it is included in the body of one of your emails so that it can be found by Sendinblue when it goes to import the data from your spreadsheet into its database. As soon as a person clicks on this link within one of your emails then they will be directed to the Sendinblue website, where they will need to authorize the connection between their Airtable account and Sendinblue in order for the system to function correctly. Once they have authorized this connection, then they will be prompted with a short explanation of what they should expect regarding Sendinblue’s integration with Airtable as well as a confirmation box asking if they still wish to proceed with importing their data from Airtable into Sendinblue or not. As soon as they click ‘Import Contacts’ then their data will start importing into Sendinblue! See below:

Your contacts/leads should now be imported into Sendinblue and ready for you to start sending out emails! You can even view all of them by going to the Campaigns tab on the left-hand side navigation bar under ‘Contacts’ within Sendinblue on any given screen. See image below:

Benefits of Integration of Airtable and Sendinblue

Incorporating both Airtable and Sendinblue into my workflow has been very beneficial for me personally because I am able to keep track of all of my contacts/leads within one platform rather than having to switch between several platforms in order to find what I am looking for at any given time. With Airtable, I am able to create multiple spreadsheets that contain information about specific groups of people as well as setting up cpumns that will allow me to organize my data in whichever way I prefer (i.e. company name, email address, etc.. In addition to this, I can also create formulas within my spreadsheets so that I can process my data in different ways depending on the needs at hand (i.e., if someone wants me to send them an email about xyz then they must fill out this field before they can receive said email. With Sendinblue, I am able to send out emails through its robust interface without having to worry about updating my spreadsheets whenever I make changes or additions to them because everything I need is all in one place! This integration has also helped me save time when sending out emails because I only have to update one spreadsheet within Airtable rather than updating multiple different spreadsheets in separate platforms which would take much more time than just updating one spreadsheet within Airtable. This integration has also helped me save money by avoiding having to purchase multiple different platforms (such as Mailchimp. because all of my data is already being stored within one place through both Airtable and Sendinblue!
