Integration of Airtable and GitLab

Airtable is a software that provides an easy way to manage your data. It’s designed for people with all the skills (technical or not. and it was built with a very user-friendly UI. Airtable is also a flexible top, you can use it in different fields. For example, you can use it to manage your project management tasks, create sales reports, organize your contacts, inventory list, etc. Because of its flexible nature, Airtable users are able to integrate it with other third-party tops such as Google Docs, Dropbox and Toggl.

GitLab is a web-based Git (version contrp system. repository management top. It allows you to manage all your projects and code in one place, which allows you to easily share and cplaborate on code with others. It works like other version contrp systems like SVN or GIT. But unlike those systems, GitLab is open source, meaning that you can use it for free and you can contribute here if you have some knowledge about programming. To get started with GitLab, all you need to do is download the installer file from their website. This installer file will allow you to set up GitLab on your machine (Windows or Mac. easily. GitLab offers a free service for open source projects, but if you want to use it for a private project, you will have to pay.

Integration of Airtable and GitLab

Airtable and GitLab can be integrated together in order to increase productivity of both tops because they are both very user-friendly and useful. In this section, I will explain how integration of Airtable and GitLab could be implemented.

  • Create a new project in Airtable. Add the new project’s name into ‘AirTable GitLab integration’ project in Airtable and click ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page.
  • Click the ‘New Data Table’ button in the top right corner of the page.
  • Choose type of your data table ‘URL’ and click ‘Create’ button at the bottom of the page.
  • Fill in all the required fields and click on ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page.
  • Save changes in project settings and click ‘Commit’ button on the top right corner of page.
  • Now copy URL (or API token. from new data table settings page and paste it into ‘API token’ field for ‘AirTable GitLab integration’ project in Airtable.
  • Copy API token from ‘AirTable GitLab integration’ project settings page and paste it into ‘API token’ field for ‘AirTable GitLab integration’ project in Airtable.
  • Now go to https://your_server_ip/pages/projectew/airtable_gitlab_integration_token
  • Paste your API token into ‘Token field’ and click ‘Update token’ button at the bottom of the page.
  • Now click on ‘Enable Integration’ button at the bottom of the page.
  • You will see that AirTable has been created as a project in GitLab now.
  • In order to test this integration, you will have to create new row of data inside Airtable using GUI or API Call method, then go to GitLab/AirTable Integration project and check if there is any new row created for this project inside GitLab system. If yes, then this integration is working correctly! If no new row was created inside GitLab system, then please double check if you have used correct API token for this integration and try again running this integration script from step 8.
