For example, when a user signs up for a free account on Data247.com, they are given API keys. a public key and a private key. These API keys provide users with the ability to access the API through simple HTTP GET requests--the keys authenticate the user when they provide their API credentials as part of the request; thus, allowing only authorized users access to the API.

Agile CRM connects to Data247.com through API calls made by each user at whatever frequency they choose. Users make calls through a RESTful API interface called the DXE API which is intended to be used by developers who are integrating Agile CRM with Data247.com or a similar service such as Acxiom or Experian.
