Adobe Sign is a web-based electronic signature service from Adobe Systems, which allows users to digitally sign PDF documents. It is intended to allow sharing of signed documents over the internet. It allows users to create a legally binding digital signature in the form of a PKCS #7 Digital Signature or a JSON Web Token (JWT. using a private key stored within a certificate in the user’s Adobe ID profile. It supports vendors to securely share signed agreements with their customers, electronically sign documents and request signatures from others, verify the identity of a user before accepting a digital signature, and generate audit reports tracking who has signed or refused to sign a document.
Integration of Agendor and Adobe Sign is accomplished through the use of an Adobe Sign Extension for Agendor. This extension enables Agendor users to request signatures from others and integrate Agendor with other Adobe systems such as Acrobat Pro. Two functions are added to the Agendor framework:
AgSignatureRequest. an interface that facilitates the creation and editing of a signature request in Agendor and stores it in the database. This interface is used by the extension when creating and editing an Adobe Sign Request. The extension then translates this into an XML document that can be sent to Adobe Systems for processing. The extension also handles the retrieval of the resulting response from Adobe Systems and stores it in the database. AgSignatureResponse. an interface that facilitates the integration between Agendor and Adobe Sign to determine if the requested signature has been accepted or not by the person requesting it. This interface is used by the extension when creating and editing an Adobe Sign Response in Agendor. If there already exists an Adobe Sign Response in the database, it will be retrieved and displayed in Agendor. Then, if the response status has changed, an internal process will trigger an update in Agendor. If there is no existing response in the database, one will be created with an initial status of “Pending”. When all responses have been received from Adobe Systems, this status will change to either “Accepted” or “Rejected” depending on whether all required signatures have been received or not. All responses are also retrieved in AgSignatureResponseInternalProcess instance method calls in order to display them in Agendor.
It is possible to browse the file in Acrobat Reader using AgOpenDocumentCreator::Create(. This method uses the OpenDocument standard defined by OASIS. This standard defines how to store information about word processors, spreadsheets, presentations… Most word processors are compatible with this standard. The format allows you to store text, graphics, tables, footnotes… in one file. So when you open several files in Acroba Reader, they are opened one after another in different tabs. This means that you cannot work with two files at the same time. But if you want to display an open document in many views at once, you can use Acrobat Designer. Acrobat Designer offers you tops to display any open document (including PDFs. in multiple windows.
