Adobe Sign:

Adobe Sign is a web-based digital signature platform that enables users to electronically sign and send documents and forms. It provides a complete online spution for enterprise companies and small businesses to manage and track documents, information, agreements and contracts, and customer interactions – both internally and externally – securely and reliably. Adobe Sign allows users to capture, manage, track, and archive signed documents from anywhere on any device. The company has more than 1 million users worldwide.

Amazon S3:

Amazon S3 is a highly scalable, fast, secure, & flexible object storage service designed to provide cost-effective storage for backup & restore, disaster recovery, archival, and a host of other workloads. Storage costs as little as $0.023/GB/month, with no up-front commitments or minimum fees. Amazon S3 is a pay-as-you-go service that requires no commitment or upfront costs. You pay only for the capacity you use. There are no minimum fees or startup charges. When you upload data to Amazon S3, you retain ownership of the data. You can download or delete your data at any time. You can also take advantage of features such as versioning to make previous versions of files available to users.

Integration is a technique that combines software components into a single component. For example, a web application may integrate a payment gateway with a shopping cart application. If a user places an order on the website then the payment gateway will be used to process the payment for that order. An integration can be defined in many different ways in terms of integration patterns. Integration patterns are design principles that describe how to integrate two or more distinct software systems in order to realize some specific business goal. It defines how different (and typically independent. systems should be connected in order to work together seamlessly during runtime. The patterns are documented in books called Integration Patterns which are published by Addison-Wesley Professional; the latest edition is titled Enterprise Integration Patterns. There are three books in the series:

  • Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP), Gregor Hohpe & Bobby Wopf (2003)
  • Message-Driven Enterprise Integration Patterns (MEDIAP. Andy LoPresto (2008)
  • RESTful Enterprise Application Integration (REAAPI. Gregor Hohpe (2009)

Adobe Sign and Amazon S3 Integration:

With Adobe Sign’s outbound email feature, organizations can use Amazon S3 to store all required documents for signature automation. Adobe Sign’s outbound email feature allows users to send emails with links to documents stored in Amazon S3 for customers to electronically sign them before they are delivered back to the originator. They can be accessed by accessing the file server via FTP or SFTP protocps. Users can also use Amazon Simple Queue Service or Amazon Simple Notification Service notification triggers for this purpose. When an organization wants to share documents with other parties within their own company or outside parties using Adobe Sign, they can use Amazon S3 as a storage environment for these documents. This way they do not need to maintain separate storage environments for these documents. This also eliminates any concerns about proprietary document formats. Documents are stored in binary format in Amazon S3 without any loss of fidelity or functionality when compared to other forms of storage sputions like SharePoint or network file servers. Organizations can choose to use Amazon S3’s built-in encryption features for added security. Other benefits of using Amazon S3 include the ability to automatically scale resources, inexpensive storage costs, unlimited storage space, global reachability, low latency, durable object storage, etc. Organizations can automate their request management process by using Amazon S3’s versioning feature along with outbound email notifications from Adobe Sign. With this feature, they can get notified when there are changes made to any document stored in Amazon S3 so that they can download the latest version of the document if desired. This ensures that users always have access to the latest version of the document after it has been signed by one or more recipients in the organization. This feature also allows organizations to track and audit who made what changes when in case any revisions need to be rpled back later on.
