I: Introduction
What is Wordpress? The best way to think of WordPress is as a content management system (CMS) and blogging platform. It’s probably the most popular and widely used one available today, with over 70 million websites using it and over 400,000 plugins available.
With WordPress, you can create a very simple website or blog or build a complex e-commerce site that allows you to sell products and services online. In other words, you have complete control over how your website looks and what features it has.
WordPress is one of those programs that just about anyone can use without too much difficulty. It’s easy to install, easy to manage and easy to use. This makes it a great choice for a Web developer who wants a little more flexibility than a free website builder might give them.
WordPress is also incredibly flexible. There are many different themes available for download, allowing you to change the look of the site easily. In addition, there are thousands of plugins available that allow you to add functionality to your WordPress site.
There are a couple of things that make WordPress a good option for a Web developer. First, it’s free. There’s no need to pay for a license fee or anything like that. Second, it’s very secure because it’s updated frequently and security issues are quickly fixed. Third, it’s very popular, so there are lots of other WordPress users out there to help support you if you run into problems.
II: Body
WordPress comes with a basic theme that is designed for bloggers, but it doesn’t really look all that great on an e-commerce site. Fortunately, there are thousands of themes out there that you can use to customize your site. If you don’t find one that you like, you can always hire someone to design one for you.
You can often find great themes on third party sites like Themeforest or Envato Market, but if you want to go with something more official, you can always check out the official WordPress theme repository at https://wordpress.org/themes/.
Once you have found a theme you like, simply upload it to your WordPress site and then click on “Appearance” in the top menu bar. From there, click on “Themes” and then select the “Install Themes” tab at the top right corner. Select the theme you want to use from the list and then click on “Activate.” You should see your new theme in the list when you go back to the Appearance page. From there, you can customize your site however you want.
