It involves techniques that utilises the use of content that is informative, persuasive, entertaining or amusing in nature. The main objective of this type of marketing is to enhance the visibility of the target business, brand or service on the internet. The goal of this type of marketing is not to sell a product or promote a specific service but rather to create awareness about the existence of the business, brand or the service.

Social media marketing strategy can be cost effective when compared to traditional marketing strategies. This is because there are no geographical boundaries for social media. The internet has no borders hence the business owner can reach out to people across the globe. This means that you can advertise your services or products anywhere in the world without incurring additional costs. Another advantage is that you do not have to wait for months before you start receiving results from your investment. It can take months before you notice changes in your sales figures using traditional marketing methods. As the products are delivered immediately, you will get results within a short time.

Another advantage is that it is easy to implement social media marketing strategy compared to other traditional marketing methods. Unlike traditional media where large amounts are spent on advertisement, social media marketing can be done at a minimal cost. Traditional media requires large amounts of money and resources such as printing and distributing various items. Social media marketing does not require all these resources and money. It only requires a computer with internet access and few clicks to access the social media platform and start posting content. Compared to traditional media where one has to wait for days before getting results, with social media marketing you get results within hours if not minutes.

The smoothies business has used social media marketing to increase their market share in the beverage industry. Before they started using social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, they had a few customers who would come in and buy smoothies. Most of their customers were friends and family members of employees. After they started using social media platforms, they started getting more customers and loyal clients who come in and buy smoothies on a regular basis and recommend others to purchase smoothies from them. They monitor the posts and respond quickly whenever someone comments on their posts. Whenever they receive positive feedback, they thank them for taking the time to comment and give them free samples when they visit their stores next time. This has increased their market share significantly in such a short period of time. Without social media marketing they would still be struggling to achieve their goals and may have had to close down their business if it had not been for social media platforms.

III: Conclusion

Social media marketing strategy has helped smoothies business a lot in terms of increasing their customer base and expanding their market share in the beverage industry. It did not require them to spend a lot of money on advertisements or market research hence they were able to save a lot of money that they could later use on other aspects of their business such as improving their employees’ salaries and providing better training opportunities for them. If it had not been for social media platforms, I doubt whether this business would have been able to survive in such a competitive industry where there are many competitors vying for a share of the market share.
