I: Introduction

Social media is rapidly growing in popularity, especially among the younger generation. This is because social media is so simple to use and it provides easy access to information. On social media sites, people can keep up with their friends, family, and favorite celebrities. They can even stay connected to people around the world while still maintaining privacy. Social media also allows them to share photos and videos instantly with their connections. The number of people using social media has increased each year, and it’s estimated that by 2020, over 3 billion people will be using social media.

Social media marketing is a strategy that uses social media websites and applications to increase sales and promote business. While there are many ways to do social media marketing, one of the most popular techniques is influencer marketing. With influencer marketing, businesses contract with individuals who have a large following on social media sites such as YouTube or Instagram. These social media influencers post videos or photos about the business and its products. Some social media influencers may even include links to the business website in their posts. Many brands use this form of marketing because it’s inexpensive and can generate a lot of traffic and brand recognition.

Back in 2015, I stumbled upon a young woman named Brittany Walsh who was doing most of her own makeup tutorials before she started making her own videos. She would do makeup tutorials on herself and they were pretty good, but she wanted to make them even better. So she got a hold of some professional makeup brushes and started doing more professionally looking tutorials. Since she was already a YouTuber with a decent following, she decided to use that as a launching pad for her own line of makeup brushes. She started out by offering a PDF download where she taught how to paint your face like a professional makeup artist. And then after that, she launched her new line of makeup brushes on Amazon under the brand name Brittany’s Best Brushes. She has been successful so far because she combines two things that are very popular online: makeup and YouTube.

Brittany’s story is a great example of what you can do if you find yourself working at a company that offers no opportunity for career growth. She decided that she wasn’t going to settle for an office job that had no potential for advancement, so she walked away from her job and started her own business. She used her existing network of YouTube subscribers as a launching pad for her new line of makeup brushes. She was able to make money right from the start because she sold her product on Amazon, which meant that Amazon took care of customer service issues and shipping for her. She didn’t have to worry about keeping track of inventory or shipping items, Amazon did all of that for her. In fact, Amazon handles so much for merchants who sell on Amazon that you could almost call it the backbone of entrepreneurship these days. When you sign up as an Amazon seller, you don’t have to worry about handling any inventory, fulfillment, or shipping issues because Amazon does all of that for you. You just set your price point, order the product from the manufacturer, print your barcode label, stick it on your package, send it off to Amazon, and Amazon does everything else for you. It’s great if you’re just starting out as an entrepreneur because you don’t have to worry about handling any inventory or shipping issues.

Another thing that Brittany did right was she combined two popular trends: YouTube and makeup tutorials. This is important because many companies like Facebook like to see how your product interacts with other platforms or applications before they decide whether or not they want to work with you. Brittany found out that there was a high demand for makeup tutorial videos on YouTube, so she decided to capitalize on that by combining the two things together into one product. The end result was that she was able to launch her own product by leveraging her existing online presence as well as her existing network of followers online.

III: Conclusion

When I first started my business back in 2012, I decided to take advantage of the fact that so many people were using Facebook at the time to reach their customers. Back then, Facebook was the dominant social networking platform online, so I knew I needed to figure out how I could use Facebook to my advantage if I wanted to succeed as an entrepreneur. After all, Facebook was allowing everyone free access at the time, so I figured that I might as well take advantage of that fact since it’s free money! One thing I did right back then was I chose a target market that was primed for growth online—millennials—and I used Facebook ads to reach them with my message. I chose millennials because they were using Facebook more than any other demographic at the time, so it made sense for me to focus on them since they were generating more traffic for me online than any other age group online. Not only did I choose to target millennials with my ads, but I also focused on targeting millennials who were interested in learning how to make money online because that kept my ads relevant for my target market without having to waste any money on irrelevant ads.
