A: Make money from wordpress plugins

You’ve probably heard of people selling wordpress plugins before and making a lot of money out of it. But what exactly is a wordpress plugin? A wordpress plugin is a piece of software that allows users to add certain features to their website without programming knowledge. They are usually called “plugins” instead of “apps” or “programs” because they are mainly used for content management systems, not programs themselves.

WordPress has over 50,000 plugins available in its official repository. Those numbers are not even counting all the third-party plugins made by other developers. Some of the most popular plugins are related to SEO optimization, contact forms, security, file conversion, traffic stats and social media integration. There are literally thousands of different types of plugins that you can find online when searching for them.

You might wonder why anyone would pay for them when they can be downloaded for free. Like many things in life, there are free versions of plugins available online but paying for premium versions comes with advantages. Free plugins usually come with ads, limited features or poor support whereas premium ones are completely clean of ads, have more features and better support. If you are willing to pay for something then it means that you trust in the quality of the product you are about to buy. Also, in the end if you are making money from your website then you would be willing to spend some money on plugins that will improve your business.

How do you get started with creating wordpress plugins? Well, first you need to understand what the business model behind it is. As an affiliate marketer myself I decided to create my own plugin to help promote products I was promoting at the time. The plugin allowed users to get extra discount on products they were buying because they installed my plugin on their website. Then I could get commission on every sale that was made by someone who bought something via my plugin. So here are some steps I followed to create one:

Preparation: Before starting writing any code I had to plan out how it should work and how users would interact with it. It’s always good to plan things out before hand because you will save yourself time later on when coding instead of rethinking everything again because you forgot something important earlier on in the process. So make sure you write down everything you want your plugin to do before proceeding. Design: After deciding on what the plugin should do I started designing it in Photoshop. You can download Photoshop for free here if you don’t already have it. Coding: Now that I had an idea how the design should look like I started coding it using PHP (the programming language used for wordpress plugins). Uploading: When the plugin was done I uploaded it on my WordPress website using FTP (file transfer protocol). Testing: After uploading I tested my plugin on my website and fixed any bugs that came up during testing. Licensing: At this point I needed a license to sell my plugin so I registered a company and got a reseller license from Envato Market which is where my plugin is sold right now. Marketing: Finally, I started marketing my product by promoting it on social media and reaching out to users through email marketing asking them to buy my product.

B: Make money from wordpress themes

If you don’t want to create a plugin but still want to create a business around wordpress then another option is creating a theme for wordpress users to buy and use on their websites. The process is pretty much the same as creating a plugin except that a theme doesn’t have any functionality built into it so there won’t be any coding involved apart from coding style sheets inside the theme itself. That being said however there are still plenty of ways to make money from themes so let me give you some examples:
