This course is brought to you by Appy Pie as part of our Academy series number 10 how'd I get rid of worthless meetings now there are several reasons why people waste time with meetings so maybe first off they think the meeting is important maybe it is maybe it isn't that's a matter of opinion that might be the first reason second reason the meeting may be there on a salary where it doesn't matter what they do with their time so much as the feeling and the looking of importance and also ties into the third reason where maybe they want to look more busy than they are I mean they want to seem more helpful than they are and schedule a meeting so they can go over tasks and maybe brag about what they did recently and what their accomplishments were now meetings can be accomplished most of the time with just a single email you have a couple paragraphs you explain everything no meeting you don't have to waste 30 minutes an hour of everybody's time you should spend a couple minutes reading the email updating everybody that's its own thing we want to talk about how to get rid of meetings that you don't want to go to that aren't helpful that being said you want to tell the truth strategically now we're going to go over a script here it's gonna be in the downloadable material section but it's asked it's possible just to follow the script send out a quick email tell them that you're too busy you have other projects other things you need to work on in a nice way you don't tell them to you know f off then it's a waste of time but you say that whenever a reason you aren't able to make it to this meeting but to send you quick notes and it's included in the script follow it you're going to not have to deal with another wasteful meeting in your life.
