This course is brought to you by Appy Pie as part of our Academy series number 34 cleanse yourself of bad habits now a bad habit is something that drains your energy dreams or time dreams your attention it's not healthy it's not productive it doesn't get you to where you want to be and society doesn't think of it as a positive thing that's a bad habit we talked about the habit cycle cue routine reward if you keep that in mind it's gonna help you cut down on bad habits I want to go through a couple examples so you know what to cut down so smoking is a bad habit you don't want to smoke you don't want to do this because it you know obviously causes health issues doesn't deal with stress correctly it causes a lot more issues it's also time wasted we're 5 minutes or 10 minutes you could have spent would have spent smoking could have been spent doing something more productive or just relaxing alcohol if you have a drink of wine or a cup of wine with dinner you know that's fine but excessive indulgence in alcohol is a bad habit when you're getting drunk you're hurting others and you're not being helpful not being productive although other bad habit here's procrastination waiting to accomplish the same thing and do the same thing for any number of reasons but it's a bad habit find out what the cue is find out what the reward is what the actual routine is why you aren't doing it what's holding you back what emotional charge is there that is causing you to not do what you want to do and do what you need to do and replace that and figure it out that way over spending a lot of people indulge in spending or them all just as a way to escape this isn't healthy because you're spending money to get a motion get a feeling that's not necessary I've talked about stress relieving techniques you don't need to spend to get stress relief all of these can be used to your benefit if you substitute the bad habit was something else for example with the smoking a lot of people are able to substitute that habit by chewing gum instead so instead of smoking going out for the smoke they do something else with their hands like chew gum and they're able to replace that bad habit it's a lot easier to replace and substitute bad habits and it is to get rid of them a hundred percent cut them out cold turkey take a look at your life take a look at the bad habits you have and then figure out what needs to be done to cut those out and to get rid of them once and for all.
