I: Introduction

Let’s start by explaining what programming languages are and how they work. Programming Languages are a set of rules for writing computer programs. The most basic programming language is machine language. It was created in the 1940s and is just a long string of zeroes and ones. Machine language is not very user-friendly and very hard to read and write in. As computers began to become more popular and they started to get more complex, it became necessary to create a more user-friendly language for writing computer programs. So they created assembly language. This language is still difficult to read and write in, but it is much better than machine language. After assembly language came C and C++. C is a basic language for writing computer programs, while C++ is an enhanced version of C that uses classes. After that came Java, which is used for creating mobile applications, Android apps, games, etc. And finally there is Python, which is used for web development.

II: Body

There are many different things you can do with programming languages, but first let’s talk about what can be done with them on the internet. For example, you may have heard of the site called Reddit, where users post their own opinions on news articles. Well, if you look closely at the website, you will see that it is made up of many different components all put together into one website. Now how did they do that? They coded it! You can tell that it is coded because if you look closely at the website, every single thing looks like it has its own unique color and if you click on it, it will either take you somewhere else on the website or it will bring up another screen. Now how did they make everything look so different? They programmed it!

Now you might be wondering, “How do I learn how to code?” Well, you do not need to go to college to learn how to program because there are many websites out there that teach you how to code for free. Two examples are Code Academy and Khan Academy. These are just two sites out of many that are out there. These sites are great because they give you step-by-step instructions on how to code in different languages.

III: Conclusion

In conclusion, there are many different programming languages out there today. They are an important part of our society today. They are used for everything from coding websites to making mobile applications for smart phones. People use them all the time without even realizing it.
